Beyond the best show I ever seen in my life. Ending was disappointing but the show could not have been more realistic.

Pietro was a strong iron fist, also the reason Conte was in Barcelona is because Pietro ran him out of Naples, but Pietro iron fist was his downfall once he told Gennaro he was just another capo and that his connects are now his connects so he better get back in line, Gennaro had no other choices but to kill him the fact he wasnt even willing to share the power with his own son was the end of it for Gennaro

I was recommended this show. Someone told me that this show shits on Sopranos. I'm only on episode 9 and i do agree that it's better than the Sopranos.

Sopranos has a lot of comedy and it's a watered-down, dolled-up version of what real mafia life is like. You have to appreciate it for what it is. Gomorrah is much more realistic as it's depicting real events with the names changed for obvious reasons. Of course, it's still a fiction and the writers take many liberties, but as a faithful representation of mafia life, it's way better than sopranos. Just comparing how Naples is depicted in both shows, you can tell that the American show doesn't really grasp the scope and history of the Camorra. In the Italian one, you see Naples for what it really is - a dump where rules are dictated by criminals-.

Same topic but very different type of shows. You can't compare them. They both have their qualities and flaws. Although I think The Sopranos is nearly perfect in it's kind, a combination of both shows' qualities would be insane.
