I always cry when he sings that song . I miss my friend

It doesn't matter how high Jim's voice is, he was such a singer!!!! I love to hear him sing.

Very powerful scene. The actress caught magic here. I believed her 100%.

It's always fascinating to hear Jim Nabors sing, especially after using the Gomer Pyle voice. It's such a shift. And then, you really do see the conscious shift back to the Gomer character at the end.

The story goes that Elizabeth's brother had just left for Vietnam when this scene was shot, and the song reminded her of him, and the producers kept the raw emotion in the scene.

Jim Nabors voice was pure gold. I'd never heard this before, I am from London England and all I can think of is how Jim puts all these lousy singers today to absolute shame.

I believe Lou Ann became a regular on the show as Gomer's girlfriend . There was an episode where her disapproving father came to town and brought her old fiancee Monroe along to take her away. Gomer , being the nice guy he was , almost let her go back with him. In the end , he stood up for himself and declared his love for Lou Ann . Once her dad saw him do that he changed his attitude and gave his blessing . I think he was just testing Gomer to find out his true intentions.

Jim Nabors had a great singing voice and was a great actor. The young lady was gorgeous and I loved all her appearances on the show.

I was 10 when these episodes were first on tv and I knew even at that young age that Lou Ann oozed sensuality every second she was onscreen. A deep south Marilyn Monroe. I felt the same with Mrs. Peel on The Avengers, Diana Rigg.
