Have you heard of the Styx game franchise ? It's a Stealth game in wich you play a goblin addicted to a sap that made him mutate. The game is good and I wouldn't be too surprised if it turned out that the character was inspired by Gollum.

I've always found it fascinating that they managed to make a design for Golum that was actually less monstrous than the Andy Serkis version and yet somehow infinitely more ugly and difficult to look at.

Hell yes, thank you for this edit!! I fell ill the same day as Wayne first streamed gollum, and watched the VOD in a sickly haze where I'd pause and just pass the fuck out a few times and have bizzare and anxiety inducing nightmares about this game. I still can't touch the vods without feeling a little unwell. This edit may give me a disease, but it's worth it for the incredible mess this game is.

8:08 That's actually pretty close to how he was described in the books before the movies came out (Gollum was originally described as a completely black, hairless and slimy creature with glowing eyes, he also wore proper pants instead of the loin-cloth) although given the games quality I feel like that was probably a coincidence.

As funny as the jank is, it's depressing to see a mid-budget game like this fail. Each one that bombs makes it harder to get games in this budget bracket financed, leaving us with only low-budget indie stuff and AAA trash. The devs just shouldn't have bothered with this one. This game should have been cancelled a week into development, or better yet just never started at all.

thank you for your sacrifice foster. lotr is, respectfully, absolutely not in my wheelhouse and i fell asleep to gollum's sniveling when i tried to watch the vods. so glad i got to experience a more manageable, if still tortuous, cut of the wretched creature. absolutely obsessed with the ending, glad i finally got to see it here!

I can’t get over the audacity of this game to be 50 dollars, when Hi-Fi rush had come out just a few months before (January to May) for 30 bucks. A full complete exceptional game dropped for 30 bucks, and they still tried to release this for triple A prices
