    Very nice to see progress with MirageC little extruder, I love that design. Been telling about that gear off centering problem for probably 2 years now lol. I even machined myself custom gears. It is crazy how they are stil not present on a market! I would personally do a smaller groove on it, as I made on my gears, this will help to center filament better. This groove on your sample looks a bit wide at least from a video perspective. It can be narrowed down to nearly 2mm in width actually. Mines are and they work great. Took me forever to machine them though lol.

    I wonder if the Goliath would even benefit from a CHT or Bozzle Nozzle. I assume the filament will be already completely molten when it reaches the nozzle, therefore not utilizing the splitting of the filament :D A filament splitter at the beginning of the melting zone in the future maybe? Implemented into the heartbreak?

    First i want to thank you Vez for the open source contributions and a great line of real parts and printers Amazing! you have shared with us all! second(team zest), I have some Veztyness to share.... so if tesla patented bolts, then we are screwed and so is every other car made after and is an infringement to teslas patent then....? (COMMON MAN.....) you dont get to patent bolts and nuts standoffs included nor do you get to steal the #7 from the calculator! put it back! they clearly dont have a real engineer or red seal anything this is obvious to me as they dont see it as a nut or bolt but yet a break thru in design..... but no one told them this happened over 200 years ago and standoffs are for spacing things or to keep heat/Electricity away from things connected to it! est. around the early 1800's, also put the periodic tables back it's not yours either my besty little friends by the way Startasys called they wanna speak to you! lmao i will also add if the hot end was no good this all would not be happening clearly, so congratulations you(vez) designed a better hot end 3 fold and they dont like it! this is the news we have really all been waiting for the rest will come out in the wash! their is a 10% patent rule to said copys this is well within the 10% difference and then is not a copy in anyway and you know it! stay vesty now!! It's winter in Canada now about and we still have to fight off the mosquitos.... Keep it Open baby! Fact : the zesty liquid fittings are 54 grams each set Just the fittings (with no barbs on a flexible hose set up) the engineer called he gonna be late! Again! Cheers to Simon and the team and thanks for hearing my views CHANTING: LSD LSD LSD !!! ,..... what waz that ...oh never mind it was just a mosquito, I got it! AS you WERE!...

    Hi Vez. Very cool hotend. I would love to try one out. Seems like a supervolcano on steroids. I am curious to know, how long is too long for a melt zone? At some point the additional friction from viscous flow will hurt flow rate more that it helps. Imagine a 1 mile long hotend. Someone that is good at math could probably calculate the point of negative returns, where extra length makes the flow rate go down. I would guesstimate that you are approaching it with this hotend, but we will have to wait for the test data to find out!

  • @wyattutz

    @wyattutz

    FWIW, he made one that was roughly 50% longer, and the improvement was negligible. Whether this means that the Goliath is at the limit of reasonable melt-zone length remains to be seen.

    @@Vez3D That's awesome! Actually, in anticipation, I already made a rough sketch of an adapter. I just don't know the spacing of the two screw holes on the bottom of the extruder. Will be looking out for the cad mock up to solve that mistery : -D ! Also printing it with plastic will only be step one. CNC'ing it out of aluminium will enable additional heat transfer to the extruder so that can become an extension of the cooling block... In any case you and MirageC are the fore front of extruder science at the moment! Finally bye bye to wood patterns and to the infamous issue 602! I hope I will be able to snatch up a VZ-HextrudORT when they come on sale on 11/11 before they sell out. Thanks Vez!!!

    there is ptfe wire going all the way to the PT1000 right? the ali store says it can do 550° though. how does that work? Edit: Correction it's not PTFE since it's clear. probably FEP then
