that segment where you told Drew not to use the 3 wood hit home as there's a Par 4 at my course I always try that one with :') 50% of the time works out

Good series guys. Don't leave yourself in an even worse position on your next shot is something I still need to work on. Have to learn to pass on those ' hero shots ' when in trouble. But man, they are so satisfying when they work out the way you envision them. More of these on-course lessons. please.

Love this series guys! Course management is one of the most overlooked aspects of playing good golf.

    A) this is awesome content, thank you! B) When discussing layups, you mentioned laying up to your favorite yardage. Strokes gained seems to indicate that you're basically always better off playing from closer to the hole (assuming, of course, you're not in the trees). What are your thoughts about closer to the hole with a potentially awkward distance vs laying up to a yardage that you like but may be farther away?

I’ve heard the same thing. In their case [5:00] however, because of Thomas’ lie and trouble that comes into play if he tries to go for it, laying up is the prudent decision. Otherwise, he’d probably go for it.

@@atxrich I get that. I think the question more is 9i to 100 yards or 5i to 60 yards. If you can go for it, yes, but I'm wondering what Thomas thinks about the 9i vs 5i decision there. All things equal, should you always try to get it as close as you safely can?

@@ChrisEckes If you can get yourself safely closer, then I would say yes but it does depend on the person. I just happen to play a short par 4 today and my drive left me an awkward 40yd pitch which I flew the green and I ended up leaving my chip short for a 2-putt bogey. For me, I probably should’ve played a shorter tee shot and left myself a more comfortable wedge distance- around 70-80yds. So I either need to work more of my pitch shots inside 60yds or think about my club choice from the tee box.

You should have just invited me to play...and then you guys wouldn't have to purposely hit bad shots. LoL.

When assessing which shot to play, do you have % success figure cut off in mind (like 70%) or only 100% ?👍
