He's talking about having his top hand turn to the right for a right handed golfer so your thumb will be pointed a little to the right as opposed to it being straight down.

He is GOAT in chipping bar none. He loves to put his tee shots outside of fairways LOL

What does he mean when he was lag putting, when he says he goes through as hard as he can on the forward motion of the putter. He says it twice. I know that he knows what he's talking about, but is their another way to say what he means. There is no way that he is hitting the forward motion as hard as he can. If he did, the putt would wind up on the tee box 3 holes over. I know when I hear what he is really saying that I will feel stupid, and that's ok because I need to know to improve my putting.

I picked up on that too. It’s an odd thing to teach someone to hit it as hard as they can. What I gather from it is if you can find a consistent force in your through swing then all you have to do is adjust the length of your backswing. I’ve struggled for a while with lag putting but focusing on length of backswing as opposed to trying to hit it harder or softer for different length putts has improved my putting a lot.

But that's not all! Order now, and we'll include.a pair of philly dogs dirty underwear! But wait! Call in the next three minutes and we'll also include a handy dandy flashlight!

PM is an excellent golfer but I could win thousands on betting on the putts he’d miss. He had this hesitancy in the short putts. An air about him that didn’t exude confidence.

With his type of stroke...there is a trade. He makes more long to mid range putts because he can launch the putts with different speeds and because of the putters closure rate he will miss more shorties...its a tough trade, but when he is on...he makes it from everywhere...and when is off...well...

@@tomjones2056 Close, the PGA in Aug 2014 but it has been a long time. In the last decade he has won 14 times including an Open and a PGA in 2014 and 3 Fedex Cups (2016, 2019 and 2022). But it's the majors that really count and he has won 4 in his career.

I mean, I don't like Phil with his latest LIV stuff, but having the most missed 3-putts means he's hit a LOT of three putts. Any pro who's been around 30+ year will probably have similar stats. It's like saying Kareem Abdul Jabar missed more shots than any other NBA player.
