Golf Lesson: EXPAND In Backswing For A Proper Turn (Part 1 LIVE)

Спорт

In this recent golf lesson with Spencer, Henry and I worked with him on creating a better wind up, and proper turn in his golf backswing.
🔑🌪️ Milo's 5 KEYS to a Rotational Golf Swing: milolinesgolf.com/5-keys-to-u...
To do this, we had him expand his right side, or trail side, so that he could turn up in his takeaway and get into left bend at the top of his swing. For a proper backswing, this is a key ingredient! Spencer tended to get pretty flat and off the ball in his backswing leading to more tilt and an open face in his downswing. In this lesson video, you will see the first steps in helping Spencer create better bends in his golf swing, for him the first step to producing better low point control and ball striking. Stay tuned for Part 2 of this lesson coming out next week. We hope you enjoy!

I like the “expansion of the right side” concept. Gets the left shoulder down more at the top, right shoulder up higher too, and steeper shoulders at the top, and a bigger rotation back, more than 90 degrees. These Milo lessons are great lessons. He teaches the sport like a sport.

Those takeaway rehearsals then the real thing has an unbelieveable Jordan Spieth look to them! Compared to his first swings of the lesson this guy learned FAST, holy smokes that was impressive to watch. Club traveled right up his forearm in the takeaway every single time after the adjustments. Thanks for sharing and another great vid!

Milo I want to thank you for the lesson where you compared the golf swing to a swing at a low inside pitch in baseball. I came across the lesson yesterday and just got back from hitting some balls and it was beyond my expectations. Thank you again. I know you are extremely busy, but if you can let me know which lesson on youtube that comparison was made, thank you

that was great to watch. you kinda get the whole Milo philosophy in one 16 minute clip, and because the golfer played as a junior and has a high golf-iq, he was able to quickly make the changes (at least on the lesson tee). we have the same grip, pre-Milo, and for me, at least, the change has taken a lot of reps to get used to, and i'm constantly fighting my right hand wanting to go back to "comfortable"--way under the club. golf is hard. thanks, Milo and Henry. great vid.

A little nugget at about 8:00-8:05: Turning correctly in the backswing keeps the club from turning behind. This is so key! (for me at least).

Milo! I believe that based on the results you get with your driver pound-for-pound and from watching several of your videos that you are the most correct and skilled teacher of the golf swing that KZread has to offer and they offer a gajillion of them. I am just a bit confused about how to add speed to the golf swing that you are teaching. I understand the takeaway, the loop, the squat into the downswing and returned through as if you're handing off the club but most of the power seems to be generated by rotating your core as you turn through. I watched the bunt to bombs video but I am still a bit unclear about this. Any advice would be most appreciated and helpful and perhaps you would like to recommend another one of your fantastic videos which might be helpful to me. I appreciate what you do and thank you so very much! Keith from New Jersey

Have I seen your swing Keith? That would help me in giving you the best feedback. For speed, it's about growing the pattern and/or speeding the pattern up. Have you looked into my online academy so I can help you individually? milolinesgolf.com

Today I decided to give this drill a try. Have to be honest, I thought it is very goofy lol. First couple of balls probably topped or shanked. After a little while, I feel like my body was getting into different patterns or movements. Suddenly, it feels like I finally understand what Milo said about the lower body leads the downswing. Needless to say, I'm gonna keep doing the goofy drill for awhile 😂

Is left side bend in backswing a critical element of the rotational swing? What happens if the shoulders turn on a more neutral plane?
