But you aren't a pro. Golf can be extremely frustrating at times, and if you do it for a living, doing it pretty much every day I would imagine you would get sick of it eventually.

I thought I clicked on Golf Freakouts but I really ended up watching Sergio Garcia's career highlights.

Just spending hours and days to prepare for a shot and all you get is a half baked flop that even a weekend muni player can pull off in any given weekend.

The first time I had a freak-out I was about 18 years old and had played golf about four or five times. I had two putts to get my first lifetime par. I missed a two-footer and threw the putter. I did not lift a golf club again for about 10 years.

Sergio is a contemptible person. I lost all respect for him when he spit in the cup during tournament play (like nobody is going to see that) if any golfer needs a serious attitude adjustment beat down. He does.

I'm pretty even tempered. My brother buys me a new putter every year for xmas. Most of them dont last too long. The thing that helped was my last putter an odyssey that cost him $150. I actually refrain from hitting shit.

Nope. His ball is not in the bunker so no penalty...

They should give the player a warning, then disqualify them from the tournament. I have golfed since I was three if my father saw me act like that he would not let me golf anymore!

I’m not saying I condone the behavior, but what else do you expect when they hit a bad one? To put on a smile and walk off like nothing happened when they make a double? No. They’re playing for over a million dollars. They have good reason to be mad. It’s better for them to have a short outburst and move on than for them to bottle up that anger and let it get worse or hurt their game throughout the round.

Over ten years ago, Sergio was going too play a PGA tournament in Redmond, Wa. At the Sahali Country Club golf course. Before the tournament was too start he wanted to practice at the Washington National Golf Course. It's in Auburn ,Wa. He went there without a tee time figuring he would be able to just walk on. My daughter was working there when he arrived there. They wouldn't let play the course because the had several local tournaments going that day. Sergio throw a fit because he thinks he such a big shot golfer, that he should be able too play anywhere he wants . He expected them too accommodate him because of his stature as a celebrity. Before this happened , I didn't like Sergio very much as a golfer. He always angered on the course too easily. When my daughter came home that night and told me about the way he acted, I disliked him even more.

The tour has less than 200 players, I bet there are millions of kids wishing to become a pro when they grow up, to actually be one of so few is extremely impressive.

Read Todd Smyzer's comment below. I have read, from a number of players who abused their equipment when they were immature, how an authority figure, a coach, or even dad, had a serious talk with them, and let them know that there would be consequences, negative, if they did it again. And they stopped.

Jamie, if he didn't listen to dad, he won't listen to me. :) I agree, he is better. And he *was* very young when he made the big tour.

Any body who acts that way after a bad shot should be penalized a 2 stroke penalty. We all hit bad shots … get over it. PS …. I have been playing for over 50 years and never got that mad ( and hit plenty of horrible shots )
