Saw her live at the Fillmore in SF in 2003. Had never heard of her. My girlfriend at the time and I were visiting the city and staying at the Hotel Cosmo. We had her wolf/malamute mix, Sebastian, with us and someone from Goldfrapp's band stopped us and said "Allison has to see your awesome wolf dog. She's really into wolves." He introduced us and Allison invited us to the concert that night. She left tickets for us at the venue. Kind of surreal, looking back.

Very cool! Makes for the best memories!

Alison has it all. She's got an operatic voice and is classically trained, the music rocks, strong rhythm, loud electronic bass line, she sings LIVE, and to top it all she gets into the zone & gives it her all. Wonderful Electric, wonderful performance.

It's been awhile since I've heard any Goldfrapp----completely gobsmacked by this performance....there is a compelling, power that she has that has that mystical quality that is impossible to resist!! She is most definitely in the zone---everything she does lets you know she is a total artist. Her and the band are atmospheric, simmering and intense...Love it!

At 70 yrs old I've dived deep into a number of genres... But this live performance, and even being one track by itself, has me deep into this performance.. both the visual video and the music itself.. that bass synth sound keeps the vibe moving effortlessly. Simply put.. BAD ASS music. And it took me 9 years to run across this group here on YT.

One of the most underrated bands of the last 20 years. Love there synthclash sound with that vocal. Very unique and talented. I feel they would of had more success if they had there singles out within the last 10 years oddly

This is great. The band is tight as it gets and this performance by Allison Goldfrapp is beyond out of this galaxy. Loving this in 2020!

This was great, probably the best electronic band performance. But I don't think most electronic bands disappoint live. I have been to a Depeche Mode (Biggest band of them alll) concert and that was great. Dave Gahan is magnetic on stage. Another one from the great bands is of course The Prodigy which are probably one of the best live festival bands ever. Their energy and performance live was just great! Röyksopp is another one which is also great live.

she hits those high notes every time! she is for real.

Goldfrapp have easily been the best group of the past two decades. So versatile, so creative. They haven't put out a single mediocre album! Can't wait for the next one

I had the good fortune of discovering Goldfrapp on their first album, Felt Mountain (and I'm in the US no less). I'd love to have the better fortune of hearing them live before I die!

Alison just has one of the best live vocals, man,woman or other. Irresistible, incredible 😘😘😘

Watched this many times.... you are right, a superb live performance... great atmosphere !

The first 1:44 of this song is mesmerizing. The way she gives the crowd a brief smile and a clap along, then becomes possessed with what she is about to do, completely absorbed in the moment. She isn't playing to the crowd, she's genuine. So much more natural sexiness and charisma than others she's been compared to.

You hit the nail on the head with this description. This is why she is my favorite performer. She radiates charisma when she performs and that’s what makes her sexy. And I can only listen to the live versions of this song after seeing her perform it twice in concert.

What a fantastic sound this band has. Really excellent

And a new Blondie! Shes got it. Hook, line and sinker. I wish shed come to US. She sings without any holding back. Its absolutely gorgeous. And recently paired up with Depeche Mode. Wow! So amazing!!!

I remember seeing them late one night on VH1 back in... It must've been 2005. But hadn't listened to much since that glimpse.

I've seen them three times since last July and she never disappoints... she's such a modest and shy person in real life too.

The beat is hypnotizing

Class performance and ace sound...the best music has always been hidden beneath the Top 40 charts..you have to hunt for it

‘Strict Machine’ originally debuted in the Top 30 in 2003, before being reissued in 2004 and becoming a UK Top 20 hit. Although it deserved to be much bigger.

Best performance of any artist ever without a trace of doubt.

Went to see Goldfrapp at Brixton bout 2 yrs ago.She burnt a whole load of cds and sold them straight after the show. Went home in the car singing the whole gig again. Awesome

Wow! I’ve always loved this song, but this is even better live than the studio version.

Goldfrapp and Roisin Murphy are the two most groups/artists to ever walk this earth. I feel horrible for people hundreds of years from now who may never get to know the sheer amazingness that is Allison and Will, as well as Roisin. Fucking brilliant.

You will not be disappointed. You may even find that you'll be spending exorbitant amounts of money on audio hardware through which to better experience her sound. I saved up for $1300 earbuds, because of this woman. She does not disappoint, even at the high resolutions. :D

I'm just coming back and finding this comment. So glad you're loving her! I have to admit that it took me about 8-9 months to develop even a slight appreciation for Felt Mountain. As of last week, I'm just completely enamored with it. Everything they do is so creative and sonicaly rich. Saw her in concert a few weeks ago. Truly an experience of a lifetime. Each song was a full-body experience.

I heard Utopia back in 99 when I was 17 and instantly knew that I want this voice in my life forever. Didn't change my mind since.

Amazing how she can go from sweet ballads to 'heavy' electro-pop and rock and roll so easily

I think this might be one of the best live performances I've seen, its like listening to the record.

Way better than the record. The energy she puts into this performance just radiates in a way the recording doesn’t capture. Pure magic.

I literally sit here shedding one singular tear like a tiddy baby bc of how insanely beautiful this performance was. The band/sound engineering nailed it, and Alison’s voice was hauntingly beautiful, especially during the final portion of the performance. 🥲

This sounds impeccable and they command so much stage presence. It would be cool to see them play with LCD Soundsystem

Saw them live for the first time July 2013 at Somerset House, they were doing a showcase for Tales of Us. First part of the set was subdued, then they unleashed the bangers at the end when the light was going down. Final song was Strict Machine complete with confetti cannon at the end. Awesome

2020 - there isn't a female electro-pop vocalist to equal her to this day.
