King I remember I told my brother, "If you can finish this game I'll give you five dollars.". I bribed him because he wasn't interested in it. When he beat the game he didn't get his five dollars, but I got something! A punch to the stomach.

This game was so underappreciated, everyone was just expecting a rehash of the N64 one just because it had goldeneye in the title.

GAH! So many memories. I'm definitely buying a ps2 again with this game (with other games worth pure gold) Im crying watching this lol. I had so much FUN!!! Wow even the music....Just a great game overall. Miss it.

When first playing, thought Bond died. It put me off at first. Glad to realise this was a simulation, hologram. lol! Been going through my old stuff more frequently, lately. Love playing this on my original XBOX. From the days when you Just bought, loaded, and played, with no extra bullshit. Single player guaranteed. No internet required. Great days.

For me it was the Hoover Dam. I think I died several dozens of times in that mission, especially in the sequence on top of the dam. I somehow miraculously managed to beat the mission, but the one after that was even harder, and at that point I just gave up on the game.

The octopus was hard and that Crab keg wasn't that hard but I died several times and almost gave up on The Lair.

"Your tactics are inexcusable. There's no place at M16 for an agent like you." Very ironic considering that 007 did the same throughout the movie, and she wasn't complaining about it.

Hey. Is that true that Jonathan Hunter a.k.a. "Goldeneye" used to be a "Double-O" agent known as "Jonathan Hunter 0013"(the unlucky number)? Also, I understand that the later missions in this game take place during James Bond's "Dr. No" mission, and "You Only Live Twice" mission. For instance, when Goldeneye makes it to Dr. No's docks, and begins to open fire on Dr. No's small army, this is during the time when Bond and Ms. Ryder are out cold after having been drugged(the coffee).

I remember playing this game back in the day and a bad guy took another bad guy hostage, like I wasn't going to just shoot through him and kill them both. I had to pause the game I was laughing so hard. Gotta try to bargain bin this game somewhere, it was the shit.

The graphics on the PS2 version are way better than the GameCube version, I like how the light reflects on the weapons, GameCube didn't have that. And I love the reload animations, was the main pistol an actual gun? I've never seen one like that before.

I still have the original X-Box and still have this game, just started playing it again the other day. As for the Spec-9, it is based off of the Walther P99. It has two-tone finish and a laser, which is unusable by the player. The Walther P99 is what became 007's main weapon in Tomorrow Never Dies. My entire childhood was based around violent games and films so 007 found his way in there eventually. I've currently taken hunt to find as many real life versions of the firearms from the original GoldenEye on the N64. So far I've managed to acquire a PPK/S Stainless Steel (PP7 Silver) and a Zastava M70 A (DD44 Dostovei, based off of the Tokarev TT-33, but very hard to find and usually expensive. The M70 is a copy of the Chinese Tokarev and chambered in 9mm instead of 7.62 Tokarev) I would love to acquire a Walther P99 but every place I check they are usually sold out or have switched to smaller versions such as the PPQ.

I remember playing this online. Was really fun.

Is this a British game? I wonder how many good games out there that are made by the UK?

i used to love this game as a kid, but i remember it looking so different and it being hard as shit. Maybe my dad put it on a higher difficulty (we played on the same save) idk
