Released in July 1997, Rare's GoldenEye places you in the role of James Bond with a license to kill. Revolutionary for its time period, it involves complicated mission objectives with an emphasis on covert operations and stealth. Along with Half-Life, GoldenEye ushered in an era of "realistic" first person shooters and is still played by many to this day. Source: speeddemosarchive.com/GoldenEy...
At this past Awesome Games Done Quick, $1,025,000 was raised for the Prevent Cancer Foundation. It only took a week of continuous streaming, 18,000 donors, and many many runners to achieve. A big thanks to everyone responsible for these amazing numbers, what a humbling achievement. For comparison, last year's event raised just under $500,000.

+Carl Österlund It's actually totally possible that WhiteGoose is highly introverted, simply because you pretty much need to have that personality to enjoy spending several thousands of hours on one particular game like this - extroverts tend to be much more interested in social interactions with other people and thus don't become gamers that often. A common misconception is that "introvert" is the same thing as "socially awkward", but "introvert" simply means "easily exhausted by social situations and energized by solitude". In this video, WhiteGoose has a lot of his attention on a concrete activity, so he could be introverted and enjoy the situation a lot more since he can focus a lot on the game - he isn't expected to always talk to everyone and have all his attention on them.

Actually, it wasn't intended as a coop mode. It was so you could play with a controller in each hand, with the left controller's stick to move, and the right to look, and was the precursor to the way we play console FPS now with dual analogue. It worked really well and just goes to show that Rare and Goldeneye was even more forward-thinking than most of us realise. Oh, and invert-y FTW!

by far the best run at this event. A golden standard on all fronts. Commentary, including the people on the couch and just being hyped for your game. Watching a high level player is one thing, watching one that clearly loves what they play is another and there is nothing like it. Goose makes me wanna speed run

He made that statement when his mother had got cancer, so he was in a very bad life situation at that time, and he also only spoke about people who prioritised speedruns above everything else in their lives - speedrunning in itself is merely a hobby, and it is a totally fine hobby if you have the rest of your life in order.

@@Peter_1986 It takes half a glance at these miserable speedrunners to realize the majority of them are autistic and lonely losers. They look completely apathetic as they play, void of emotions except that of frustration and self loathing, only to have this depressive pattern broken by extremely short bursts of joy as they beat some obscure and meaningless record on some niche category.
The moral of the story is: "YEAH BABY!"

Encouragement, and raising the energy levels of your teammate makes it even more fun for us!
Still possibly one of, if not the greatest, AGDQ run of all time. Great commentary, amazing gameplay, hype moments, it had it all.
