The Titanium white is fantastic for painting game miniatures. Nothing else compares. It's fluid enough yet has great coverage, unlike every other white I've tried. I also use your Sepia and Shading Grey as washes. Looking forward to trying the other colors in this line. Are there any plans to expand this line?

Hello Tommy, I just looked at the SDS for the product and could not determine from that how similar they might be to High Flow colors. I think it is worth mentioning that "acrylic" is not a very specific term in the sense that there are a lot of formulas for waterborne acrylic polymer, and we use several different kinds of acrylic across our product lines. In the practical sense, all these acrylics are compatible and work together seamlessly - but there are variations in wet and dry properties that make one preferable to another for a given application. The best advice is always: TEST - try the products and see what works best for you.

Are there any color charts and mixing charts for the high flow inks?

What makes this different from say, like PH Martin acrylic inks? Or are they similar? I notice sometimes with acrylic ink you get beading when you paint it on nonabsorbant surfaces. Does that happen with these?

Hello Tommy, I can't find a PH Martin acrylic ink, only watercolor and India Inks. India Ink and watercolors are significantly different from our High Flow colors. Whether High Flow beads may depend on the surface, but one of the components of these colors is a surfactant that helps minimize surface tension and thus beading on surfaces. But for a more thorough and technical answer, you should send an email to help@goldenpaints.com

Do the colors in the drawing set work well with an airbrush?

  • @GoldenPaints

For the most part, yes. It depends a little upon the size of the airbrush as the Iridescent Colors will work better in medium and large tip airbrushes, the other colors will work in fine tips. For more detail on the recommendations see this product application page from our website: www.goldenpaints.com/technicalinfo_highflow

Are these more lightfast than drawing inks? thanks.

  • @OceanClark

stuffstuffstuffyay Yes they are! All of Goldens products have an excellent lightfast rating because they are permanent polymers. Once dry it's essentially a very high quality plastic that should stay vibrant for hundreds of years.

stuffstuffstuffyay You can't really answer this categorically, some inks are lightfast, some aren't. Generally, a pigment-based paint such as High Flow will be more lightfast than a dye-based ink.

GoldenPaints You just answered it categorically. LOL Well "generally" anyway. I love how unbiased your answers usually are...the humility is refreshing...but we all know your product is the best of the best. ;)

I hope I helped you. Technical questions are often about chemistry and technology, and as such the answers tend to be moving targets. That keeps you humble and keeps you from absolutes (never and always... )
