These guys were just a class act all the way. When you hear a group that can just flat sing, blend, and present such a quality performance you know it's pure talent and hard work. These monsters were singing without special effects! Just giants! Phenomenal. I'm a new die hard fan.

Grazie mille Bruno per aver pubblicato questo documento. I Golden Gate Quartet sono fra i miei preferiti. Queste sono vere canzoni e VERA MUSICA e non le schifezze che si sentono oggi piene di volgarità e senza una poesia. Grazie ancora!!

One of two favorite personnels of the GGQ! Great singers individually, and the musicians here were too. Astounding pianist. Singers enjoying each other's singing, Clyde Right smiling at Caleb Ginyard's rendition of Shadrack - I like it.

Le titre " Shadrack " date de 1955 donc 65 ans et PAS UNE RIDE !!!!! Toujours aussi bon de l'écouter !

I has the incredible honor of meeting your uncle and the rest of the group many times in the 70's and 80's and just recently I was in Paris and met Paul Brembley who joined who still leads the band today

It all started in 1931 in the Norfolk country side of Berkeley. A local barber a.c Eddie griffin a barber and Robert peg ford a one legged bass wanted to start a quartet and sing a new jubilee style type of music so they hired 2 high school glee club members from Grover Washington high school Henry Owens tenor and willie Johnson baritone from 1934 to 1935 they sang on local radio and in local churches barber a.c Eddie decided that he was certain about his barbershop career and retired from the quartet and the elderly robert ford became sick and missed more of the shows so in replacement they hired Portsmouth tenor William Langford and they succeeded into talking the parents of 17 year old bass singer Orlandus Wilson he’s the one that has a deep voice in this video
