I love goldbacks.. I buy them and use them as tips for waitresses and the local pawnshops here in Texas accept them as currency.. I believe in passing them. Out to get more people interested in sound money vs federal bs.

Glad to see Goldback starting to spread the word about UPMA. The number 1 complaint people have about Goldbacks is the hefty premium but with a UPMA account you only lose 5 percent off of their market price when selling your physical non vaulted to UPMA (cashing in your vaulted you get their full current market price). Also, the higher denomination Goldbacks from the bullion dealers is generally cheaper than the UPMA price, its the 1 Goldback notes that are so expensive. I like to think of my UPMA Goldback vaulting account just like a checking or savings account at a bank. You can even get a Visa debit card for your Goldback account and while their are normally fees associated with using the debit card those fees can be avoided as well. Great video SD.

I didn't know about this...the Hack you outline sounds basically like arbitrage, buy from one source and resell to another at a higher price. This is often done with other commodities/securities as well. But with GB's it seems like a sound method to buy low, sell higher, and realize a small profit each time you flip the item. Cool Beans!

Anyone saying it's a lot over spot is likely unfamiliar with prices for small denomination precious metals. The smaller the unit, the more over spot it's going to cost(applicable to products guaranteed to be a certain amount, not something like raw shot). A goldback is far more than the gold, it's a produced product. The gold is only part of the materials cost which is only part of the product cost.

On top of that, shops give you the premium when you trade for goods. You actually have a zero premium because everyone accepts the premium as part of the value. Goldbacks are amazing.

@@dwightsmith5174 it is an election year, so stuff like this would be at the bottom of the list... they just cut our taxes which is good but everyone forgot they raised the gas tax to years ago so its a trade off... instead of cutting they should have "IMO" came out to the public and just said to us " we discussed tax breaks but we have so much influx of ppl moving to our great state that we should upgrade our essential services, all kinds of infrastructure because we cannot depend on the federal government to help" .. we are one great state and should take care of our own.. build up a war chest of cash to be used if something major hits like a hurricane... then start to scale back.. our SC citizens would maybe have more respect for them.. to me making a SC gold back is another way to keep us all whole and another step away for the fed...also tell everyone your plan, just don't give sound bites..keep it strong for our great state @Dwight Smith ... 🇺🇸👍

@@EmmyGrace614 I know I’ve seen a few just doing a search for Goldbacks. From a prepper standpoint, it sort of makes a little sense 🤷‍♂️. From a stacking standpoint, the premiums aren’t really justifiable. There’s far better ways to stack. However, from a collector’s perspective, all logic is tossed aside with reckless abandon. I don’t live in a state where I can actually spend these, but I like the idea.

@@billc.9389 The real premium issue is that things which command a high premium when you buy them tend to also get a high premium when you sell them. I used to buy gold pesos because they were "cheap" premium wise, but when I went to sell them I got destroyed on what someone would pay me. With a silver eagle, which has a high premium, i can always sell them for over spot. Marketability is a big issue when you want to exit your gold/silver stack into something else. Lesser known things or stuff without premiums when you buy them tend to underperform when you try and exit them.

My only recommendation is to call them a one Goldback not one dollar Goldback. This is a mistake everybody makes until they get used to it as they have nothing to do with a dollar

I just learned about these today. Very interesting. But, as far as using these for regular legal tender, I can see them getting destroyed far too quickly. But, they be great for tips.

Oh well. I wish I would of known about this earlier. Bought some for gifts to my grandkids, live and learn.

I love goldbacks . I bought 400 1 goldback bills. Just for the stack! My goal is 1 oz that's 1000 1 goldback bills. I only have Nevada and Utah right now.

I haven't bought any GBs yet, but it seems to me that buying only 1s would make sense as using a single or multiple 1s in any given transaction would result in the least amount of fiat currency being given back as change.

I did the math on what an ounce of gold would come out to it would still be around 3,000 an ounce . Ouch ! . Been to Nevada a bunch not to many places take gold backs . I did find a few . I like the idea but more places need to have faith in the idea! With all that said I’ll definitely try this hack because the gold backs are beautiful!

People need to circulate and spend them instead of hoarding them as collectors items. Places will become more familiar with them and will trade them.

good idea, i think even if people start to do this, as long as the comany vaulting the goldbacks isn't losing money, it could go on forever, or for as long as the 1 goldback exists, would make them more popular for sure

Except the premium on the goldbacks is over 100% over spot, people decide they don't want to accept them at such a ridiculous premium you'll lose half your investment

@@TheSimba86 getting a ROI is not the goal with buying goldbacks. Having hyper fractional gold to use as barter currency is the goal. Just like the goal with junk silver is to have fractional silver to barter with should the need arise. A physical note backed by gold because it has gold in the note itself is more appealing to me than silver minted by the government that devalued its own fiat currency to the point they had to remove real money from circulation over half a century ago.

I would say it is one Goldback then 2 would be two Goldbacks etc.

I know that trick. I have an account. You can even get battered gold eagles and silver eagles. In 2019 they were $2.97 each. Whenever someone says they can't afford gold, ask them if they can afford four bucks. Presto. They have gold.

I rather hold goldbacks just like Gold &Silver. I like the Goldbacks no matter what state.

Id just like to get a few every month n hold till hyper inflation hits . Save some junk silver too. Get food store w heirloom seeds. Garden etc

When you do the price I think that you should mention that that price is contingent upon how many gold backs are you buying. The price could be if you buy 50-100 gold backs. This is probably way out of line but regardless you still have to buy multiples to get that price.

Imagine it's exciting just to imagine all the different states that will have the collectible Gold backs like imagine Lewis and Clark of Missouri. Or imagine Indian chiefs specific ones. I'm even imagining goldbacks from countries around the world. If Russia or Alaska has a bear or wolf goldback I would probably be down to collect those

Why would I use a vaulted account? Isn't the point to have these available in my home safe for emergencies? This doesn't make sense to me. It seems even more risky than putting them in a safe deposit box. Just curious.

The Alpine Gold 'Guarantee' states that spreads on exchanging Goldbacks PURCHASED ELSEWHERE are as low as 5%. That spread isn't in your calculation. Did I misunderstand something?

They have a calculator tied to the average trade rate value of the goldbacks. One goldback is around $4 the value of purchasing power infused as a utility. Over time as good increases or the demand of goldbacks becomes higher then the goldbacks will reflect it. They update weekly. The businesses that use goldbacks along with the dollar will give you dollars of equivalent value in cash of what's left over.

Question..if you have an account, and suppose SHTF, how could you get access to your goldbacks?

I think you your idea of a vault exchange is only good if you do a fast turn around. If you wait a year you get back at the curret exchange rate not what you sent in rate. Tell me if I'm wrong.

hey guys you will not make any money flipping them on ebay. Let's say they sell fo 6.00 on eBay. most of those sells are free shipping meaning you would have to pay around 3.25 to ship. this takes you down to 2.75. plus you have to pay ebay 12% sells fee.

Shipping prices are just insane unless buying $500 face value at a time lmao.

Why isn't the face value equivalent to the gold value?

Update: 2022 I think the hack still works, I found 50s being sold 18 bucks under exchange rate I don’t know if alpine changed terms and conditions tho

I think these will have a collector value that will make up the premium. If paper dollars can be worth big money because of the art why not goldbacks that actually have gold in them.

Gold will have to go up like 2.5x just to break even on the premium you paid for them. They are cool and that's simply all they are good for.

I seriously interested in how much you can actually make on this? If it cost you around $3.28/ $1 goldback, then ebay charges you between 10%-15% (lets us the higher number on case it's that high), and it sales for what a lot were listed at (around $5.04), you already have about $4.04 in your cost/fees and you still have to pay for shopping, as most people like free shipping. At that point, you maybe broke even, but depending on how much you sold in a year, you'd get hit with taxes (correct), so do you really make anything, unless you can find ones that sell for way more than the $5.04 and potentially charge some shipping. Not trying to poke holes in strategy, just wondering your thoughts on the actual potential profit.

@@SilverDragons47 the shipping cost info is helpful. At the $5.05 selling cost, your entire profit would then be eaten up, if you were charged 15% by ebay. If you had people by them at $8/$10 each, yea, you'd do well, but it would be random as so many are selling for $5 or such, unless you get a new state that comes out and everyone wants it, but then you need to hope the vault has that state right away. It is an interesting possibility if the ebay fee is low enough, they could be shipped cheaper/charge a small ship fee, get one that's hot amd if the exchange idea with the vault works out for a long time. Thanks for all the info. Very interesting.

@@christophergarland2266 I'm a top rated seller and on coins and bullion I pay 7% total minus my top rated discount which puts me below 7% a. eBay also now offers their standard envelope option which would cost about $0.50 to ship and also includes tracking. You do have to have a store subscription to get the lower seller fee but it's well worth it if you are a seller to begin with.

This would be a horrible way to try and make money, mainly for the reasons you listed. But, if you're interested in a bunch of $1 Goldbacks, it's a great way to get them.

There is counter party risk here. Plus the free service will not last the company will go bankrupt or they will start charging. Good luck! If it sounds too good to be true it probably is a scam.

Scam. If you want a guaranteed loss of money, buy goldbacks(scambacks). If it was earnest, theyd sell these near cost. Just buy real bullion. If you like the novelty, just buy and expect a souvenir.

Goldbacks are not meant for billion stacking. They are a separate currency made for spending wherever they are accepted, that is backed by the gold they contain (hence the name). Although you could add them to you stack of precious metals if you (for some reason) wanted to.

They probably are selling near “cost”. If you add the price of the gold, printing, Manufacturing and distribution that’s what you come up with. What is the premium on any other very small denominational gold? GB’s will be the lowest!

They are actually planning on making a set for each of the fifty States, but it's probably going to take a little while. Like, a decade or two.
