FD interest is not a simple interest calculation. It is compound interest based on the frequency of compounding (maybe quaterly, yearly etc)

Also you can cast those tools in the video as well so that others people will be able to do those calculations w.r.t their scenario.

One factor to add is liquidity of gold - as one get 90% of spot value. So there is 11% delta. Taking into this account the analysis will change. But Gold is still superior in deflation or inflation periods. It is the real money. Good one Varun. India is safe with youngsters like you.

The only advantage fd has over gold is that u can convert it into cash instantly in need of emergencies in case of gold u have to c markets condition.

But still readily you can convert Gold to cash when required, both carry liquid options. While liquidating FD prematurely you might end up losing 1% as fee if charged by the bank as penalty.

I bought Silver worth 5000 (4600 silver rate + all extra charges) a few months ago. Today its opened at 4700. Lets see where it goes from where. I am a equity + FD (NSC,PPF Corporate bond AAA, Bank Fd) The precious metals bug hit me a few months back. Fds provide safety on returns but trick in other when to buy & sell.

Should have bought when silver was 34-36k to compare with how the market has shifted right now. I expect metals to hover at 50-53K before coming back down, so ideally if you buy at high's the comparison can be nullified. Safety on returns but what is the point if you get the same or even lower amount as per inflation, if you invest somewhere and purchasing power drops then that is dead investment.

@@IndianBullionaire No worries. I knew I just wanted to get a feel of buying precious metals. With regards to equity and precious metals I had said trick is when to buy, hold and sell. It reminds me of 2008 when gold went to top market was at bottom then equity came back so gold had lost its sheen. It will be same way now. If in 2022 US and other markets come up then Precious metals will lose of some of its present value. Its like a two way street except for Titan. Gold goes up so Titan goes up.

Do note that if our currency gets weakened even further as compared to USD then price of metals may not fall afterall (even if Gold spot drops). That is how we were able to not only get store of Value for gold but get more than that as compared to stocks or cash itself. Let’s see how well your silver experiment goes :)

This one is great, it will surely help in investing. But do we get same amount of value for our gold bars as per market? Or they make some hassle regarding making cost and all? And pay us less than current valuation? Because this happens with jewelries, is it same with gold bars and biscuits?

Thanks, good question. For Gold you usually get 90-98% of the market rate, even if you consider 90% it will still beat inflation better than FD. With jewellery the deductions are way higher than coins & bars hence I mostly recommend coins/bars over jewellery but cannot say anything if the purpose of the purchase is an event or marriage etc.

I have paid for a product on Coin Bazaar during the lockdown period. Coin bazaar did not send any email/SMS about when they would ship it to me. I am worried as this is my first purchase on Coin Bazaar. Any idea when it will be shipped? Will my order be safe even if the shipping is delayed? If you didn not get any email/sms regarding cancellation of your order then don't worry once it is feasible for them to ship they will. Even I had placed order during lockdown but I will wait till it's a GO for them. Thanks for watching, don't worry about it.

Both have their pros and cons. Gold is great but bank deposits have their own advantages.

Thanks for liking my content and subscribing. 1) Can't say when price of a commodity will go up or down, if you are buying for long term then consistency is more important than price. 2) I buy my coins from amazon/flipkart/coinbazaar 3) If you buy from brands with proper certification then no worries 4) Sell them to a local jeweller / cash 4 gold shops / recycling shops Please refer to my videos, there are over 200 and I have answered almost all those questions in those videos.

As per my knowledge, their are article which show gold in wrong way, just because our honourable Govt dnt want us, to make investment in gold reason no. 1. Gold is imported so outflow of currency 2. To make fiscal deficit low as they can. And by rising GST and import duty they have been successful some how.

I get your point but when a simple asset like FD is unable to fight inflation then people should be aware of that. Gold is not the only commodity which is being imported, silver is also imported even though it has more of an industrial usage as compared to Gold of sentimental. Reducing fiscal deficit because of Gold is not the only thing Govt. should be worried about, considering price has already gone up hence imports will decline accordingly. Import duty and heavy taxation has welcomed SMUGGLING. So, in either case we will never get out of this.

Time frame batao fir I can help with your query. Gold has been pretty flat for 2021 so yes in respect to the whole year it probably hasn’t performed better than an FD, could’ve been negative as well. But just to remind you, you don’t buy gold for 1 year. XIRR also cannot be determined for less than 1 year period.

Invest in both, maybe divide your capital and see how it goes in the longer run :)

Gold prices will go down only because of spot-market manipulation. So usually gold price will dip only about ₹5,000/- at the most. After that it'll go up gain.

FD interest is 6% MAX unless you go for IDFC with 25K min balance at 7% Either put 50K into FD and then wait for Gold price to come down then put 50K into Gold or put all into FD and when Gold goes down then take money out of FD and buy Gold.

It depends if the local jeweller in your area is willing to buy it back from you in the future or if the price is decent and if you have heard about the jeweller from your family/friends then I would suggest buying it from local shops otherwise you can check online if you want.

You can sell it whenever you want but the price of Gold has to go up if you are looking for returns, no banks do not take gold coins/bars for loan. Only jewellery.

Agreed, but the question is “Is it at peak”. Inflation, Trade Wars and god knows what is upon us, even if equities start rising, it will be for a very short period before they start collapsing due to hyperinflation in the coming years as well.

25% Making charge wala gold kyu lena hai lekin? Coins ka 2-5% hota hai aur jewellery ka starting 7% se hai. Costly gold loge toh costly hee lagega. Instantly buy karke instantly sell karoge toh nuksaan hoga. Gold ko ek do din ke liye nahi khareedte hain saalon ke liye lete hain. Mutual funds will make things worse when the market reverses, recession ke time par stock market ka haal kya hoga vo time bataega waise.

If you are going for interest and ignoring gain/loss on Gold then you should stick to FD 😅

Completely incorrect comparison.... Then better calculate gold rate in last 10 year and same time calculate FD rate... During this calculation don't forget to include GST and Making Charges for Gold and also includes depreciation charges when you are selling gold to get actual appreciation.... Since 1.5 years gold is running very fast due to US & China trade issue and recent Corona Crisis..... It is something similar to GILT funds, gilt funds perfom good FD rates are low.... So don't compare incorrect financial products.....

I disagree, just because of the term period you cannot conclude it is incorrect. If talking about the 5 year period we all know how interest rates and market is going down so if Gold is going up that means it is showing it’s safe haven appeal, also including currency debasement. This 5 year comparison favoured gold, would someone still opt for an FD looking at current scenario? Are we not nearing inflation period soon, IMF projected rise in inflation and I see Gold performing even better than before.
