    Like cooking chicken, you have to bake those chips so they get incinerated all the way through, Fire on top doesn't finish, All these steps make a big difference in your total gold recovery, Dont worry, Making mistakes is the first steps to success, Good job, Good teacher thanks.

    Could u answer a couple questions for me please? Do you usually do this in small batches like this? I was thinking it might be better to save up the filtered incinerated Ash, and then once I got a number of buckets full I'd go ahead and run it all. That sluice looks like it would be really frustrating to get all the stuff out of it. Have you tried one of those vibrating table things that work similarly to a sluice? I've seen a video of someone using that for their Ash material and it worked great. And that's only about a square meter plate u gotta get the gold off after. Could you please do a rough breakdown of how much it costs you to do this, and also how much weight was in the chips before you started? Then we could kinda get a better idea of the gold yeild per kelo Vs what you might get by just selling the chips to a scrapyard.

    Dont dump the metals away because contains gold. I dissolved in acid. Whe I washed of I found lot of ash with some gold.

  • @erwing5392
    @erwing53926 жыл бұрын

    The safest way to treat the ash is to use somekind of hood, the ash contains ideally no carbon but a lot of metal oxides like leadoxide, a lot of metal oxides are very toxic. I don't think there will be any beryllium in there, it is used in other components like things that have to deal with a lot of heat, mostly this is white, not black.

    open flame burning is ineffective. it is better to make a primitive analogue of the blacksmith's forge, and burn in a pot on this forge. Fully burnt chips just fall apart on white dust, easily and effortlessly. good luck

  • @joek511
    @joek5114 жыл бұрын

    Never watched your videos before, but you lost a whole lot of gold. I've been doing this for about 8 years. On average 500 grams of chips produces about 2 grams. I would estimate you had about 12 to 1500 grams / 3 lbs * 2 grams per lb,,,6 grams. I incinerate, wash the material through a 100 mesh while shaking it, violently, and do it again. Until there is no black material. what you will have left is a bucket of water with white ash and gold leads (your high grade). The rest of the material will have gold on the wafer plates and the wafers, some of the legs may still have gold leads attached. You can separate the wafers easily by using a magnet. What the magnet dose not pick up contains precious metals. Gold , silver, platinum and copper

  • @jowens1126
    @jowens11262 жыл бұрын

    When you get things milled down to where you have that wire material and small chips. You can take that material and put it in a large beaker. Add a mixture of Hydrochloric Acid and Nitric Acid (Aqua Regia) and put it on low to medium heat for a few hours. That will dissolve out the gold. Then you can filter out all the particulates. Reduce the solution to near dryness, then add Hydrochloric Acid to dissolve everything remaining. Then add Sodium meta bisulfite to precipitate the dissolved gold. then you can melt that down to nearly pure gold.

    This is one of the best channels I've run across so far with the steps of gold reclamation, Thank you. I have a question or 2 or 3, Aqua regia, Is that a mixture of different acids if so how do you make it? The other acids that are not available at the hardware store, How would I obtain these? One video I saw used Cyanide of all things and it stripped the gold plate without touching the other metals! Thanks again I am subscribing.

    I suspect some of your gold is being vaporized. For the same reason, fire assay is not the best way to find microscopic gold. Try splitting a sample, acid wash half and use your propane torch on the other half. I think you'll be sadly surprised.

    If I had so many IC chips all the time, for sure after grinding everything into powder I would dissolve all the base metals in the concentrated vinegar and what is left ran through Aqua Regia without any sluicing. You are loosing gold and you know it.

    If you grind the ash instead of crush you will cut the bonding wires into billion pieces. Smaller gold is easier to lose. When I wash the ashes some gold wire float on top because too small. I hope you not lost any gold.

    Spare Time Hobby that guarantees you a return anytime in the future that you need or want it. Some people play video games, others read books or play sports. Rarely do those people master those hobbies enough to turn the time-spent into actual monetary ROI (I = time-spent) - Then you can spend that same time doing something like this several times a week, and say in 5 years, while said other people are Not going pro, thus continuing the chosen hobby as only that, a hobby. This guy is watching the markets, and has done this ‘few hours of work’ about 700 times. Then one day the market for gold sky rockets due to some event in some part of the world causing massive spikes in different areas - this guy walks his peachy ass to the banks and cashed in on what he’s been casually saving for said time = Satisfied Return on Investment.
