    Awesome work! I dont know if you print the eagle yourself, but maybe you should try use some conductive filament next time. Theoricaly you can plate it just right of the printer! Altough the conductivity of this filament is quite low (1Kohms/cm).. I dont know the how much conductive paint is conductive..

    This is great. I'm curious as to whether it's possible to mask certain areas during the second or third plating to get a surface that has multiple metals on it's surface. Like stripes of nickel and copper. Does anyone know if something like this exists?

    It's actually more likely to slightly melt and deform due to the hair dryer if you keep it on the same spot for too long, than 3 hours at 50°C in the oven.

    The principle is the same for any model. You need to make the plastic electrically conductive. Then plate in copper sulphate for 30 minutes at 0.02 A/cm^2, then nickel, then gold. etc. The only thing you would need to change is the current for your model. It's based entirely from the surface area.

  • @damiangjy
    @damiangjy4 жыл бұрын

    Thanks for sharing! I'm curious though, why do you plate with copper, then nickel, before finally plating with gold? Couldn't you have just bypassed the copper and/or the nickel, and plated the gold immediately after applying the conductive ink? Or just went conductive ink>copper > gold or conductive ink>nickel > gold?

  • @GoldenSolutionPlating

    @GoldenSolutionPlating

    4 жыл бұрын

    you maybe able to plate gold directly over the conductive ink but as the copper plating is a very thick layer it would cost a lot of money if you would do this with gold copper is very cheap so as nickel you could plate gold directly on to the copper as well but the copper can react with the gold thats why we plate a barrier pf nickel thanks
