Gold Panning at The Famous Quesnel Forks Ghost Town.
I managed to pick up a claim right in the ghost town of Quesnel Forks. In the VERY RICH gold country of the Cariboo. I spend a day with my friend Mark from Gold Stream Placer Supplies prospecting the new claim looking for the hot spots on the Cariboo river.

WOOHOOOOOO!!! Happy golden Sunday, everyone! Hope you’re doing well, Dan! 🙂👍
I enjoy seeing the historical sites. Dan looks very natural in front of the miners' cabin 😊
Great job getting that Au. Keep on having fun and living the dream. Gold Squad Out 🤠
That area is highly recommended for anyone interested in gold and history. Between the bullion pit mine, the town of likely, the fishing on Quesnel lake and then hitting the back road to Barkerville for a few days is a wicked experience. Great video BTW:)

I love your excitement level and awesome hard work on the quest for good gold. I love your ...just the right amount...background music of high energy that fits perfect with your adventures , love it. Wowza... you sure know how to find the good gold...you deserve a bonanza of riches!!
Dear Dan, love your videos. As I may have said, I’ve just been to Arrowtown in NZ. The old Gold Town. I also visited the historic Chinese Miners Village. Those men were restricted to the tailings by the other miners. They lived in little (tiny!) self built stone cottages, grew vegetables and had their own community just beside the town. They worked SO hard, it must have been bitterly cold in the winter. They sent all their money home to family in China, they stayed years, many dying in NZ. Their bones were boxed and sent home for burial. Heartbreaking. Gold prospecting is a special “career” and takes a special person! I could probably manage a couple of days! 😊
Your channel is my work watch playlist through and through! Any time I need to get work done, doesn't matter if it's my day job or hobbies, you always motivate me with your videos and make me want to work harder. Love the hard work and wonderful content, always excited for the next vid.
Great video Dan BC is sure full of History Good to see you out enjoying the beautiful back country. Stay safe with all the Fires.
Not only do I like this video but to show all the old cabins from the gold rush. Those were beautifully keep up and I give you another thumbs up. Like I’ve sad before keep this coming
ALRIGHT Dan, It looks like a good claim. Lots of nice sized gold and you didn't have to work too hard to find a nice little smile.👍☺
This was a fun video, thanks for introducing us to Mark and Gold Stream Placer Supply. I will certainly look up Marks Y/T channel too.
Very nice Dan! I also enjoyed seeing the ghost town. Has some fixer upper houses. Lol

Greetings from the BIG SKY. Good to see. Gold is where you find it, I see.
Slow motion .You spoiling us Dan ❤Thank you for all the knowledge
Great find today Dan. Great video as always.
I love watching when you are in the Quesnel area. Makes me homesick, since I used to live about 30 minutes north of town, way out in the "Rhubarb" 😁 Love it and miss it!! Love watching all of your uploads and adventures but, the Quesnel ones hold a special place in my heart. ❤

I've only known one person who called the bush "Rhubarb" and he was from the Caribou country too. Fought forest fires together.

Great video Dan!
Woohoo thought I wasn't going to make it . Good morning all
Here in Saskatchewan, it looks just as smoky as you have there, Dan. I'm pretty sure we are getting it from B.C. And it smells smoky, too! 😷 Great video! ❤
I read a book about the Quesnel gold rush. I think it was called "Caribou gold". Its the history of the early days of the rush in that area. There's a story of the barbershop in Barkerville that was run by an African American from Los Angeles who was smiling all the time and was a friend to everyone. He was murdered in his barbershop and they never found out who did it. I could be wrong in the details of the story, but not the story itself. Its been fifteen years since I read the book. I remember a lot of stories from that book because it was such an awesome read that I read it many times. Thanx for the video Dan and Mark.
⭐️Mark has a really nice shirt 👕 on. Great pose against the cabinDan‼️‼️‼️
Glad I checked my notifications, this is yet another great video from Dan! I wish I had the stuff to go gold panning but I'm broke 😂

@@kingfloppagamingThere's a little bit of fine glacial gold in some Kentucky rivers, especially Northern KY. Fort Knox is supposedly the best spot in the state.

There's places in the Appalachians that have great gold. Head south into easten Tennessee. Stay away from land between the lakes. You shouldn't have much problem in the Appalachians in Kentucky and In North Carolina either. Just learn a bit about the geology of the spot your looking and talk to the old people, they know things.

Very nice sir thanks for sharing this six stars
Very nice take of gold
Love to see that 4o chev .worked on and finished 😊😊
Wow that Sweet Golden Smile 😁10X 👍. SKK .
good find gold😮
We had a couple weeks where smoke was in the air from the Canadian wildfires here in Louisville Kentucky, hope you and your family/friends stayed safe
good job!
I love new claim videos
Thank you from Berea Kentucky ✌️
Hello Dan: Another awesome day out REGARDS from South Africa 🇿🇦.
That end with that house and that beard is the most miner thing ive seen! Heheh!
Who wouldn’t love to live there.beautiful 😀👍
40 years ago, lived in Quesnel for 15 or so years. My mother-in-laws’ boyfriend, who was about 80 at the time, used to pan the Fraser, the Quesnel, and up towards Barkerville. Hiked all over, always came back with gold. He had old tobacco cans with 1/2 inch of flour gold in them. Heavy! Don’t know if he ever sold any, or what happened to them when he passed.
Reminds me of the city of Rush. Only the buildings in Rush are mostly up on stilts to keep them from rotting due to extreme moisture.
Nice count! We great lakes basin prospectors would lose our marbles on that. 😂
Wow would I love to spend a day with you Dan just to learn how to pan for gold
the history of our province is so interesting so many long lost mining stuff
Great way to start the morning before I head out to the grandparents claim south west of prince George
Good morning from Southeast South Dakota
Sooooo... Dan's a time travelling pirate from old privateering days, lost on the modern wilderness.... Garrrrrr!!! Heeeelllloooo matey!!!...
Beautiful country
Nice tips
In those first pans, that's about what I'm finding in the glacial moraine in central NJ, where old erosion channels have concentrated the gold a bit in their mini-delta fans.
Very nice day
Cool! I was just in barkerville last week. Hope the smoke wasn't too bad for you!
Hey Dan long time watching I respect your work and your talents god bless what you do ❤😅
Thank you
DAN!!!!!!!!!! I went to Dahlonega Georgia, U.S., to do some gold panning after getting interested from your videos! I got a bunch! wish I could show u a picture!
The smoke is thick here in Grande Prairie as well
I have never panned for gold but looking at these vids i cant help to wonder if it would not be faster to just do a rough shake in the pan and when u have a scoop full left dump in in a bucket. Then at bring that home to put it in a gold sluice. Ofc doing prospecting as you are today it makes sense to do pans!
Is that Likely? I went there for a gold panning weekend thing in ‘87, went with my dad. I remember the old cabins everywhere and my dad didn’t get any gold 😆
Tiger balm deals to flies and mosquitoes, I wouldn’t go near that river without my trusty bottle of Tiger Balm. A dab on the neck, wrists, ankles etc and the critters run away, hi from New Zealand

Gold is good there when you dig down to the blue clay.
I would say fantabulous. I love watching your videos. Ever throw any nuggets out of the classifier? Stay safe
As much smoke as has filled our air in Nebraska, your air quality meter must be off the chart.
Hi Dan It's been awhile since I've made any commitments on your video's You make me so jealous 😂 I'm really loving watching you explore the same area's I grew up prospecting, hate to say it but that was 50 years ago 😢 I'm over on the Similkameen River at the Similkameen falls and I know you have worked this river a lot and was hoping you might have a suggestion on where you had the the best luck I have 10 cells to explore with massive amounts of bed rock lots and lots of gravel bars The only thing is I've only found a little bit of fly poop in 2 weeks I won't have an excavator till sometime next summer and really believe there is gold here This claim hasn't been touched in at least 15 years Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated Love your videos and recommend them to anyone who asks about prospecting
Golden nuggets with some real crunch
Nice gold
Been thru the Smoke in Woodland Park, CO, when drought was happening. Not so this year. Reminds me of the 1970's. Climate is how the world turns. I am so thankful for God's creation. And I love the AU from God's creation.
The "Dat is a full pile of dirt" comment broke my funny bone.
Everywhere is burning where I am in ontario we haven't had 3 days without rain all summer.
"I'm not going to dig this one hole because I want to explore this new claim but one more pan!"😅
watching from the Philippines😊😊
In northern cali fires are bad but panning has been good last few times I went out on the smith river
Polly's fly poop 💩 hahahaha
Air looks the same here in Red Deer. AB.
Twelve foot Davis meet Sliver Dan. 👍👍🤟🤙
there is a rumor that 2 steel barrells full of black sand and gold is buried some where near you .i know exactly where you are and some people say its on that island in your video good luck love your vids
What is a typical classifier that you use on the river?
Hello there team Dan
Spent every summer since I was ten on my Dad's Placer claim the black flies were so nasty further up the Cariboo River towards the Barron Provincal Park. The water was Ice cold.
Does anyone else find themselves helping Dan pan by shaking your ipad😂. I put my feet in w tub of cold water too
Hey Dan, I miss seeing your dad on the videos. Is he ok? I just wanted to know. he reminds me of my dad a lot, good with his hands and a subtle, somewhat dark sense of humor. Not to mention that he's knowledgeable as all get out. He really reminds me of my dad.
@Danhurd

Yes, he is OK, he is hear right now and just got into a clip I'm editting currently
The gold got good on the third pan.. To me that says the deposit is deeper and every time you go to the surface you get jack. The gold obviously had settled down well there.
The first pan you did there was a rock with a nice flake
It's funny that everybody is always diggin behind rocks. Jeff Williams has a flowmodel of a river and Gold also drops out in front of rocks, maybe even more. You also know the Dutch had a 300+ meters model of the Rotterdam new waterway for testing in the 60's? You can still visit it as a ruin. Even kingfishers there.
@Danhurd

Yes I talk about this in many videos, you can often find the bigger pieces in front of the rocks in small numbers, and the smaller behind the rocks in large numbers. But that is only a generalization, anything can happen.
Not shabby at all Dan.
Look behind all the big rocks! Pixie Ears at 9:50!
we know the smoke issues here. it sucked. stay safe. hope it rains.
