Jeff, you are the only abandoned mine explorer that explains what was going on. So many other of these guys don't have a clue what is going on in a mine. Thank you for putting this out.

Firstly I'd like to give you a big shout out Australian style..... G'DAY MATE !!!!! lol, that's the best we got D'ya know what I enjoy the most about your videos Jeff... apart from the knowledge, experience and all the shiney. That when your talking facts and making these videos, your like a little kid in a candy store, or a kid who just had his first kiss.... The genuine excitement you exhibit is so authentic you have me bouncing in my chair and hanging for the next instalment. Mate keep up the good work and one day soon I'll have saved enough pennies to make the long pilgrimage from Australia down to to where ever it is that you'll probably have a tour going and finally get first hand the sheer excitement you instil into your viewers. Take care, stay safe and keep these videos coming.....

Wow...excellent video Jeff. My father worked as a minor in Utah when he came to this country in the 1930's. All he ever said about this was that it was hard work. Man.....what an understatement! Thanks for showing what the old time minors went through. Looking forward to part 2.

Not only was it hard work it was dark work. The only light they had to work by was carbide lamps even when operating a drill you had to work more by feel then sight. A working mine is generally at 99-100 percent humidity even with air added just off the amount of water from the better drills. They also couldn't hear well in the mines as everything was both loud and only had narrow paths to travel so could go far. A voice will not travel far so communication was limited to line of sight using the lamps.

I saw a video of the Midas mine the other week. man....gold mine with silver as a waste material. that's nice. It was showing how the Nevada deposits are different from the California deposits. Said that they formed from hot springs instead of plate or faults on the coast. pretty neat.
