How Paseka didn’t do serious damage I don’t know. Some of those Chengs are so scary looking!

I still wonder to this day why she even thought it was a good idea with all of her back problems. The somewhat decent (for her) 2019 Amanar and the weak but still serviceable (and definitely better than the cheng) Lopez could have been enough. Ellie and Coline were close behind, but considering this attempting the Cheng in QF and EF likely was part of the reason her back injury got so bad she had to stop training all together, and eventually retire

@@rmc2001 Because unfortunately a leg separation deduction is .1 no matter how big or small. They should have a range of leg separation deductions, like a step is .1 to .3 depending how big it is. But they don't so she was able to get away with this while other gymnasts had much smaller leg separations but the same deductions.

@@danasuperstar yes you are right but I see it more the legs askew. Where other gymnasts have leg separation Paseka's legs didn't know what way they were going

Worst form ever

I don’t mean any disrespect to Paseka. Honestly they are some of the ugliest vaults I’ve ever seen in competition let alone a gold medal winning vault final!

Europe doesn't typically have a deep vaulting field (like a max of 3 that can put up decent difficulty in a final) so she was able to get away with it. Her winning gold at worlds 2015 over Hong Un Jong was one of the most ridiculous things ever though

Steingruber was the top european vaulter from almost a decade, some other gymnasts won even witgh a fall, the new code of point sucks!

Incredible indeed how many wins with no so good performance...

great video! the footage of Carlotta Giovannini was actually from the 2006 championships, she won the vault title at the 2007 championships

Looking forward to seeing gold medalits on beam too!

Amanar is the furthest back of this lot yet still has the best flight and form 😊

Because she got such a massive score on her first vault. Even with a poor landing on her second, she still averaged higher than the other competitors. She was only 0.150 ahead of the silver medallist but that was enough.
