physical delivery is already starting to become a problem. price of gold has fallen a lot recently, but that's only the spot price. you try to buy physical gold right now and the premiums are ridiculously high. the "real" price of physical gold greatly differs from the "spot" price of paper gold futures contracts

Central banks have been trading paper for gold since central banking was invented. People don’t realize because they are more concerned with the stuff the paper can buy. But when paper fails all assets will be purchased by central banks using gold. Effectively acquiring the real assets from those that didn’t hold physical gold.

I couldn’t agree more. I would only add that due to the level gold will rise, silver will also step up as the “smaller denominated” currency to use for smaller purchases. Stack now while you can.

Same here silver is all I can afford, actually silver is a better buy anyway. Most gold mined is still available but the mined silver is forever disappearing because of its industrial use. Common sense says as anything becomes scarce its value increases.

Silver is on sale compared to Gold. Easier to buy and use for currency too. Fractional Gold cost too much in premiums. Only Gold oz's are cost effective and that needs to drop to $1,400.00 to be on sale.

I’m living in the future today, and it sucks. I miss the 1980s and 1990s.

Gold and Silver are like buying a stack of lotto tickets without knowing when the numbers are going to be drawn. But they will be drawn. And the day they are drawn, most other assets (particularly fiat) will be nearly worthless. Pretty important hedge if you ask me.

Mr. Schiff was right all along. He is a man is superior intellect. I remember Jim Cramer and some of the people on Fast Money saying the rates at zero “wont end well” but all assumed they could get out in time before disaster struck. I sure would like to get a look at their portfolios now.

After periods of hyperinflation many countries make denomination of their currency by cutting off couple of zeros. If US does that the debt may get another chance to cross $31T in new (denominated) dollars.

I don't blame you for seeing gold investment as a joke. I really don't. BUT, I first started looking at gold as an investment around 2002 when the price was around $200-$300/0Z. I wonder now how I would feel and what my net worth would be if I'd just bought gold and gone to sleep until now. Of course, a lot has happened since around 2002, but would I have slept better or worse with my money in gold since that time? Of course, you have to take into account trading fees when it comes to buying and selling real gold. And that part of it is quite significant. Still, I wonder.

We talk so much about the Federal reserve interest rates and the mechanics of which direction to go is better, but I know we all can’t wait for the day we mostly discuss how bad of a financial engine it is, that it’s unsustainable and the more we rely on it, the more blood sacrifice is needed through theft of labor, private property, and individual liberty & responsibility.

Its not something they should be selling. Our paper currency, which is also called Fiat Money, or 'phoney' money, ONLY has value, because it is backed by something of value, which here would be Gold and/or Silver. Having more Gold is good because it can strengthen our currency. Printing money like the Federal Reserve is doing is inflation and destroying the value of our dollar!

Great interview. Glad that Fox is starting to touch on these problems.

Silver is about $20 an ounce but to buy a oz you'll have to pay almost double for it.

Gold is such a small asset class how hold can work for the current huge - like liquidity and globalisation? US dollar is 40 trillion domesticity and 140 trillion in Eurodollar , what about gold in dollar value and in the whole currency value ?
