Many Burroughs critics in here I’m seeing, when did wrestling become a soft sport? I didn’t see his hand play as being excessively rough, just aggressive. It’s about head control and creating an opening you aren’t dancing with your competition in wrestling. Burroughs was being the aggressor finding opportunities to get his double legs in and his opponent couldn’t find his own attack. That being said props to the Iranian wrestler Nokhodilarim for being such a young and promising talent to make it to the top stages of the sport and defending well against such a legendary and experienced wrestler.

There’s a difference between being aggressive and being a blatant jerk. Jordan is kinda in between in my opinion, on the one hand, he can be aggressive enough to pass it off, but on the other he can be too aggressive with it and hit hard enough to be penalized. And another thing too is that while Jordan preferably enjoys using the hand-head contact, he can’t handle it when someone else does it to him, example, Burroughs vs Geduev and Burroughs vs Suleymanov

And this might just be b'c he's no longer cutting so much weight; imo he doesn't pass the sniff test. he would appear by the untrained eye to be using performance enhancing drugs.. wtf do i know tho? not a doctor or expert on steriods, test replacement, HGH, or EPO etc. etc. and if he's not I need to learn or be educated on his strength and condition drills b'c he looks strong AF @79kgs..

Jordan Burroughs won but he did not fight a clean fight. During this match Jordan Burroughs had his hands on the face of the other wrestler about 50 times (only at the beginning of the match he was mostly touching his forehead which is allowed) but only got sanctioned once. This "hands to the face rule" is not being frequently enough implemented by referees and needs to be updated by the international wrestling federation. You can not have a clean and fair fight as long this practice remains unchallenged.

  • @tylernicholson5319

If you draw an upside-down triangle on the face, with the the three points of the triangle being each eye and the mouth, that is where you cannot touch the face. The forehead is okay, the cheeks are okay. Jordan *mostly* touched the forehead and cheeks, which does not fall under the "hands to the face" ruling. I agree with you, though, that they should call hands to the face more. A couple of years ago they made a big effort to call the penalty more and it made a lot of people mad, so now they do not call it as much. It is tough to find a middle ground.

Burroughs is not wrestling at all. he gets distance and he is scared to be close to do wrestling. Really the way he is acting is not wrestling. he keeps a huge distance from his opponent and then he tries to jump. That's not wrestling man. I think they should change the laws and warn a wrestler who avoids to be close to do wrestling. He is not wrestling at all. He is just jumping to his opponent. I am Iranian but really David Taylor is real wrestler that is not scared of his opponents but this guy (Jordan Burroughs) is just doing a show than wrestling. If you are scared to be close to your opponent to do wrestling, why do you join a competition?

JB's continuous clobbering and boxing makes it difficult to wrestle and that is somehow dirty but Nokhodi did nothing actually. Sidakov(Rus), Abulrakhmonov(Uzb) etc. who have defeated JB have wrestled against the same boxer-wrestler so there ARE ways to fight against his clobbering.
