Hi. I have one other question. When foiling is it normal for the underlay color to show through a little or should the foil completely cover any ink? I printed a gold foil shirt with a white backing but I can see some of the white through the foil

+NeesieDoesIT Foil will show the color underneath because the foil has a slight opacity to it. So what you want to do is print a goldish color before you lay the foil this will make the gold foil blend better in case you don't get full coverage. After you wash the garment it will look really good. Same goes with the other color foils so print blue for blue foil and so forth. If you are printing silver even try to pick a greyish color for it to look solid. If you have any other questions don't hesitate to ask.

Looks great. I'm trying this on an Epson DTG printer. How many seconds did you apply the foil and what was the temperature?

the temp was 330deg for 90secs

Does the foil work better with any particular fabric? I normally use 100% cotton.

+Neesie's Curls We use all of our foils on 100% cotton, but we have tested on blends with success. we just don't sell them. But it is good to know in case someone comes in asking for a blend.

what kind of ink u use? is it liquid adhesive? where can i buy?

It really depends on a few different things. The type of fabric it is applied to. How well it was applied and how well you take care of it for washes. We have some foils that are around 8 months old and have been washed many times and still shine almost like the day we applied it. But we have some 50/50 blends that it did crack and separate after about 15 or so washes. BUT with that being said some of the 50/50 blends did the same thing just with the white ink which is your glue for the foil. So its more about the foil still adhering to the white.

I'm going to purchase the Anajet Power, do you have any recommendation, I'm new in this industry, just like the fashion and T-shirt. Anajet is a good choice? And how much for it? Thank you so much!

We really love ours and use it all the time for everything. We have the mp5i and there is also the mp10i. the only difference is that the mp10i is faster. Quality of the prints are the same. Cost you would have to ask anajet. You can call them 877.626.2538 and ask for Shawn, Mike, John, or Ken. Just let them know that Mike from SignWorx told you to call. They all know us very well.

We have just been using the foil from Anajet, but its the same you can get pretty much from anywhere. store.anajet.com/catalogsearch/result/index/?cat=36&q=foil

Question: If you were going to put foil on it, why did you print it in colour and not print the foil on a white printed design?

Good Question. The answer is that the foil is actually not opaque. So if you only print the white and put the gold foil on the ink. The gold wont be a bright AND if there are any holes of foil that don't 100% stick. When you print the color of the foil, this helps fill in those holes so you have a full print.

the foil we use is the foil from Anajet, But you can use any kind of foils that are used for screen printing or dtg. the transfer is the ink from the printer.

I can not get a foil to peal off completely solid like your video or the anajet videos to save my damn life! What am I missing? Full saturation, speed setting under color, my underbase doesn't have speed as an option only draft and fine speeds. What o you do that gets you the best results? I have a group that wants sparkle and I need to perfect this ASAP if I am to be any help to them :( HELP PLEASE!

For the settings there's not too much to do. Anajet used to have a setting to make the white speed and that worked the best but now, it is just the Fine and Draft Settings. You want to use the Fine and Narrow Setting with content based white. Then have a gold color over the white print. This will help hide imperfections in the foil along with making the foil shine more. Now the trick to a clean peal is two things. Pressure and cooling. You want has much pressure that you can push down on your press. You don't want to force it really but just where you can still push it but it kind of hard. If you really force too much pressure you can wrinkle the foil and that's not what you want either. Then after the time you let it cool completely. Then you can peel it right off. It took us a few tries to get it to where we can do It the same every time. but we will have one or two that don't want to play ball though. I hope that helps

its not a foil machine its an Anajet mp5i DTG printer, we use white ink as the glue for the foil

It will vary on different factors. like how well the shirt was pretreated for the white printing, the blend of the shirt and then the type of detergent and tempatures that the clothes are washed in. Now with that being said we have a few shirts that are over a year old of our own and unless you put it next to a freshly applied foil shirt, you most likely wouldnt have know it was a year old and washed many times.

Just never wash the shirt if you want it to last long. That works only if you take good care of your clothes.

We wash our shirts all the time and they still look good. and we never tell our clients not to wash them and they love them and come back for new designs. But as any shirt even if you buy it from a big box store it will fade after time, but we don't have issues with washes. What has been your issue with washing your shirts?
