Sometimes if the barcode on the item doesn't work, try scanning the barcode on the shelf label. Ive done this many times at Target and Dollar General. Its often when a product packaging is updated by the manufacturer woth a newer barcode, but the shelf label often stays the same.

Niceee! I was on LOP for 2 years but even though we don’t have the tiers here, I can tell they’ve removed me from it without telling me because my AR is around 20% and I haven’t seen any LOP orders in over a month.

I had that same problem with the substitution. Asked the customer to "add" it at there end and I would refund the item I couldn't scan. She said she couldn't find it. I got a 1 rating from this customer 😢

So the way you get around that item substitution issue, is you just scan a different similar priced item with your phone, and take the proper item to the register. I'm sure you may be worried about discrepancies but that's why you take a picture of the receipt at the end. I've done this a handful of times. like most workarounds, be honest & DD shouldn't find out or take it away. you avoid another 1 star & the customer gets what they want. good luck :)

I had a really good two weeks with no backwards offers and decent bundled offers that more than often had one with no tip included. However, this last week was my worst week in 9 months. Went from 90 percent AR, to 72 percent AR. My average per hour went down to 14/hr. I try to keep my AR higher so I can turn down the backward/No tip offers.

Yeah I like the est time feature👍🏼 Aldi can be tricky if you need to replace items and talk to the customer…tick tock goes the clock 😁 Also I believe there is a spot that you can add an item to their list instead of replace

In cases where barcode isn’t recognized, I go back to the original item, act as if I’m scanning the barcode for that item, then it will do “item not recognized” or whatever, but I do it twice. Then it gives me the button for “I have the correct item” button to take a picture. I just do it that way. That way they still get the item that they approved.

If you're not making close to 30 an hour on gold, then something is wrong. I do that cherry picking on multiple apps.

Not noticing any improvements in sound from previous videos without the mic vs with. Just fyi.

I hope so, I kinda feel like these are the same orders I'd get on normal shifts just with fancy tags. The priority does help though, my dollars:mile payouts have been strong

We are having this roll out in the next two weeks. We are already at top dasher status. 92 AR ....Tell me how much better it will be? Looking forward to it.

Wow, a new feature? Since I'm doing dashes, they showed the wait time. Different companies within the same one

I do a ton of shop and deliver orders. That is the thing that can hold you and when the app starts crashing. Sometimes it allows you to manually add and then send photo of it instead of scanning

yeah those status' may be good for cities where everything is so close, but go to a market that's a 10mile radius and because the miles/dollar ratio is based on where you are from the pick up location, you'll see less and less high paying offers.

I’ve been getting more high paying diamond orders today was a good day

I've had the barcode issue. I just got onto support they added it in and sent the same pic to support as you did with the customer 😊

How long did that take?

I just can't force myself to a DD shop order for 7 8 bucks. To stop go in a store get their stuff, see if it's there, sub if its not,has to pay pretty well for me to go in. Here I have 3 dollar stores within 3 miles of each other 1 mile from my condo and I have to get pretty good pay to do it. I like the stores and the people in them. It just seems to take a long time good for a break is about it for me. Here you have to find the cashiers with red card not to sure if the card works in self ck out.

I had a shop and deliver for 1 item at a Safeway and then pizza for $18.50 at 10 miles. They didn't have the item at Safeway, and after 10 minutes of waiting, I refunded the item. My offer went to $10.50. I decided to drop the order after that. I hate when the customer won't answer!

Today was the same issue, several times try to replace the item for another and that message appears with “something is wrong” and that order toke around 30minutes so it was not profit for me

You get priority meaning you will receive more offers, however those offers aren't guaranteed to be higher paying offers. I just watched a video where a youtuber put 3 phones next to each other and one had priority and the other 2 didn't. The one with priority just got more offers, but still 80% of the offers weren't worth doing.

For the barcode not working what I do is act like I found the original item and scan the thing I want to replace it with twice and it’ll give you the option to override saying you do have the correct item. Then just tell the customer you got the replacement but the app will say it’s the original and they’ll appreciate that more than a refund and no replacement. Gotten extra tips for doing this too

I really like these type of videos opposed to the ones when you are just inside talking.

I've been dashed in for 2 years, I do a lot of the shop and deliver orders cuz I like them. If you have this problem again, try to scan it like it's the original item, it will tell you that it's not the correct item, then you click the button that I have the right item. It will make you take a picture of it. They would only ever check if the customer complained but you have proof they wanted that substitution.

This is worked a dozen times for me. It brings out like normal, never had any complaints and if I did I would direct support to the chat. 100% better than telling the customer you can't do it. I like giving the customer substitutions since it's so frustrating when you get your groceries and are missing items.

If I could actually toggle off shop and pay (I have the pilot but no options but cash on delivery lol) then I would consider getting my AR up higher. But it seems challenging to do when I often do Uber eats at the same time to try to pair a couple orders together. This has been working well for me lately though even with low AR but I get significantly less orders so I mostly rely on UE

I had an issue with the actual barcode on the wanted item at a target. It was bacon but for whatever reason it was like the barcode was not loaded or available or even add able to DD. So I just had to say the store didn’t have it because of the same barcode issue with two other possible substitutions.

I’ve always had the estimated wait time feature. I’m in LA, Just yesterday or the day before they took that feature away. They must be testing it to east coast now.

Idk if its in just a few zones but in my zones i can opt out of shop and deliver orders. Its under the menu button and choose delivery Preference.

When the app don’t let you substitute it and say you can’t scan the barcode what I do is just say, I found the original item and I get the substituted item. Only if the substitution is the same price as the original item is the same price or less than

so whats the opinion?? Accepting all or Cherry picking, whats the offers gonna look like at Platinum?? but then again if you start out ACCEPTING ALL, then all that is required is minimal amount of deliveries to become a top dasher, once that goal is obtained, it is easily maintained

I may be in the minority, but from day one I opted out of shop & deliver. I don’t do it - it sounds like a nightmare. I’m Gold and for me accepting only pickup orders makes the job so much easier & enjoyable.

Anybody else just start noticing the hard breaking heart acceleration information panel? Of course the disclaimer above says it's not going to affect your pay. But I'm wondering if due to extremely erratic drivers that there is some pressure to have a safety metric involved with the delivery. Kind of like the Amazon DSP AI. Except now is DoorDash through your phone lol

Mike, you’re in a city. What do you expect?? I’m on the Jersey Shore (LBI) and I have no problem making part-time money. I feel you’re so hooked on “dollars to miles” you are doing everyone a disservice. One should have a MONETARY SET GOAL and shoot for that on a shift. You can drive yourself crazy your way.

Exactly. I earn by time, decide what I need to net for the dash upfront. I strategize my location using pause to get back to my sweet spots. I’m no high roller but I’m doing good. 98% acceptance. No rewards program here in San Antonio so priority. Peace, out.

Thanks for the feedback, I disagree on the monetary goal premise though. If my daily goal is $100 is it worth it to drive as long as it takes just to hit $100? 6.25 hours if you're making say $16/hr. At $16 pre-tax a standard W-2 part time job might be better without wearing down your vehicle. I want both pay per mile and high pay per hour. Keep in mind these videos are mainly to test these programs for others as my personal earnings have been so-so on Dasher Rewards.

@@YourDriverMike Don't worry, you nailed it in this post. There's a good article by the la times on how gig apps use a daily goal to the company's advantage. Drivers start getting lower paying offers since they'll drive more to hit their daily goal.

Hey Mike, I'm in the Southern California Area. I currently have Gold Status. AR:89% Comp Rate: 100% Cust Rating 5.0 On time: 96% Deliv last 30 days 96...Lifetime 3091. My problem with the new "Rewards" system is "Deliveries Last 30 days" I was sick for a few days in early May and in April out of state for a funeral in April for 4 days. I had 103 deliveries yesterday 5/22 woke up with 96 5/23, not sure how that happens. I need 150 to get to platinum, so I can have my DASH NOW (anytime) status back. My area is pretty rural for So Cal. I'm finding it nearly impossible to get 150 dashes. Any suggestions or insight?

.. I never get shopping orders .. and their red card doesn't work .. can't activate .. couple years now .. weird .. 🤔

My taxes are so low it’s not a problem. I have no state income tax in my state

I had a similar incident with a substitution barcode not working because it wasn’t in the database. I called support and the cat told me to keep scanning and eventually the app would let me add it to the cart. It did work after about 20 or so scans. This unnecessary hoop jumping is ridiculous… they need to make it easier for us to add substitutions when the item and the pre approved substations are not available.

Agreed. I've tried that strategy with success. For example, if the app is rejecting a package of a half-dozen jumbo chocolate chip cookies, I'll scan the bar code of a package of a half-dozen jumbo peanut butter cookies instead. I'll alert the customer that they'll still receive their chocolate chip cookies.

@5:58 the way to deal with that is pretend it's the original item, scan the barcode and it won't work, scan again, then click I have the correct item, take a picture and add to cart! I do it all the time for my customers.

Here in MN... I avoid downtown Minneapolis and st paul...

I think it's just different with people like doordash carma.if your good to them they'll be good with orders for you.

I've gotten pretty good at them by now where I actually don't hate it, I know where most everything is now niche-wise

The barcode issue is because DD doesn't have all the items a store has in its system. It happens all the time.

No I pretty much quit because when this program came out it cut my pay by $10 to $12 an hour

Doordash doesn't have every item in their database. Tell it scan original item, fail, scan again, fail, take photo. You're covered by your text stream. Only time it won't work is when substitute is way above Doordash price threshold

Unfortunately, all these analytics, metrics and data are out of the control of the driver. The only thing a driver needs to pay attention to is how much they make (on average) per order*. If it's taking increasingly longer to make (the same amount of) money in a day or shift, that can also be an issue. *Should be looked at on a week to week basis.

That’s horrible lol $56 in nearly 4 hours is not it. I hope they don’t bring this program to NW Florida because I’ll just quit dashing all together. 4 hours should be $100 minimum

I do Uber eats and DoorDash at the same time. I ave $1.75 a mile and make about $25 an hour. This dasher rewards program helps me none. I’ll continue with my 20% AR lol

if we're not making minimum $30 an hour and driving not more than 15 mi in that hour then we should go and get W-2 job. oh and by the way F their programs

I have my normal “9-5” job where I work 40-55 hrs a week at $36 an hr. I dash and do Uber eats on the side about 10 hrs or so a week and make $25 an hr. Not a bad side gig. Couldn’t survive solely on dashing though

Pay per hour is the only thing that matters, That's the whole point! Pay per mile is meaningless if you're not making a reasonable amount of money per hour ... DD is still scamming you ...

It’s almost too coincidental that most of your shifts end up being about the same pay that DoorDash wants to convince you to take if you deliver by time. We know what you’re up to Mr. DoorDash. Haha.

17 an hour is not good… no matter how you put it… just another way DD is getting over on us… how to fix they need to take less of a cut or charge customer more … but they shouldn’t make much in the first place… DD is gas money.. that’s it .. welcome
