Jeff, I bought 2 different size mortar tubs at one of the local "big box" stores.. I put one inside the other, and then use a smaller dishpan to catch the tailings. The smaller mortar tub has lower sides than the larger one. I place my pump in the larger tub. After 4 hours of running sand through the setup, I had less than 1 small shovel full of sand in the bigger water recovery tub. The smaller tub acts like a trap for all the sand that washes out of the dishpan with the water. Yes, I have to dump the dishpan every so often, but I made a log retainer right next to the hole, and dump the tailings behind that. Then all I have to do is remove the log and a few scoops with the shovel, and I can fill my hole back up the easy way. I also found that using a piece of plywood under the tub and stand made it way easier to level the Cube, and didn't have to keep re-leveling as the sand shifted.

Hey Jeff. I'm Jeremy, I just want to say that I appreciate you posting videos on gold prospecting. I'm a novice at this gold prospecting thing and I'm learning as much as I can from your videos and other research here in Colorado. Thank you. Maybe one day I come to one of your tours and learn more.

Nice job Jeff, Another way to get it to set in a big tub is to set a 2x4 from side to side, one in front and one in back. That is a way for the folks out there without a welding shop to be able to just set the legs on the boards and go.

Jeff.... One thing I use to level my Gold Cube is my cell phone and the free App plainly called Compass. This App even in the woods with no reception receives GPS location to work your compass, and also gives location in Deg Min Sec to ensure you are on the correct claim. Just swipe the screen to the left and it turns into a leveler for vertical and horizontal with + or - your exact level angle. I just check my 4 sides on the slick plate and adjust the legs as needed for a fast setup. Luck all.

Hahaha, good to Slim is back in action! Jeff, you're videos are always great and packed with a wealth of knowledge! Are you going to have any group outings anytime soon? Just recently moved to the southwest Summerlin/Spring Valley area, subscribed with the LVGPAA, in hopes of getting started on some prospecting activities. I'm a newbie and have zero experience in the field of prospecting, but have always dreamt about if ever since I was a kid! Also have considered joining the Southern Nevada Gem and Mineral Society, since I've been an amateur rockhound for many years and would love to gain more knowledge in the mineralogy/lapidary field. I figured that would be a good stepping stone in receiving the proper education in order to get started. I've been a subscriber of your channel for some time, watching your videos sparked this fire inside and now there is no turning back! I want to thank you, your wife, Nevada Jack and Slim for taking the time in making these videos possible. Salud!!!

Water treatment plants do this exact thing.. And I too would love to know the amount of gold you two have collected over the years if it's not top secret.

alright..burnt out the second motor on the gold fox. they were gracious enough to do a onetime replacement on it and included their version of a water cooler for the motor. pretty good of them I thought. so short story long version is I did purchase the gold banker and will be using it this weekend. couple of questions if you've time. 1) how well will it separate small roots..will it clog the gold cube? 2) do you really have to screen down to 1/8" or can I scoop bigger rock in to wash them as the dirt I am working is still wet from a 100 year storm? thanks again for these tutorials on equipment! and yes, I do own a banjo pan also. p.s. gold fox is working with the manufacturer of the drive motor on the trammel. it needed an adjustement on the torque but since it's so hot I will wait for cooler weather and run my new gold banker!

hot dog! got to use the gold banker last Friday. and I believe I have found the one piece of equipment that I will use in just about any situation. I was out in the desert by the johnny mine and doing a real world test. it was good that I was forced to slow down a bit...not much though, to run it and just using 1 battery for 6 hours of nice quiet running. I am impressed and the folks at gold cube have come out with another fine product!

hey Jeff love your vids bud, I also have a gold cube and bought one of the 12v 3amp laptop chargers. but when I hook it up to the pump it just kinda stutters. It works sometimes and sometimes you have to take it out of the water to get it to start. any ideas?

you might have a bad charger....sound like the pump is no getting enough power. Try another power supply with a little higher amperage rating. JS
