    This place used to be my favourite spot but it's turned shit after the floods last year, now you go there and there's a million plant pots and a whole pontoon on the mud.

    +Dominic aukaha-larsen I'm not too familiar with the area. I fish where the guest takes me. Don't recall seeing a weir. Best to walk the perimeter of the waterway until you become familiar with it. Goodluck Dominic ;)

    @CoastfishTV what lures do you recommend down in the Gold Coast estuary, me and my mate are heading down for a few days and would really love to snag a few trevally! oh and also how heavy were you fishing? Thanks!

    I like anything from 4 and 5 inch gulp stick baits in watermelon pearl. So that clear green colour. White also works a treat but I've found its more about the action that'll get a Trev revved up to hit more than anything. Fast hard whips of the rod and fast retrieve. That's why stick baits with a bit of weight in the jighead works well as the plastic will move quick both upwards on a hard whip and downwards with a good weight. Other times if they're just feeding hard, you can pretty much throw anything at em and they'll hit.

    Thanks heaps, also, sorry forgot to ask how heavy the jigheads were and how heavy i should be fishing there? Like 6 pound braid and 8 pound leader? 1/24 jigheads? Cheers.

    +Bart Simpson Depends what you are chasing. 8lb leader is fine. 1/8 oz jigheads will do the trick. Go lighter if the fish are a little finicky.

    How did u give action on plastic

  • @CoastfishTV

    Fishing Mate Just fast whips of the rod then letting it sink which turns fish on to hit it.

    Hi what rod is it? Length and weight bearing?

  • @CoastfishTV

    @CoastfishTV

    Quite a while ago Carlo though I would recommend a rod of over 8" and between 3 to 7kilo built to cast soft plastics in particular

    I will never handle a flathead again unless I've got gloves on. Got spiked the other day by a flathead about 4 inches long. The pain was excruciating for about an hour. Went home and put my hand in very hot water which helped so whoever is reading this just be very careful when handling flathead
