Gold City & Kingsmen Robe Of White At NQC 2009 + Tim Riley Brief Interview

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Ran across this footage I shot at the National Quartet Convention in 2009 when Tim Riley returned to Gold City and appeared at the NQC after being gone for 5 years. Listen to a brief interview with him after the performance of "Kings Gold" as Gold City exits the stage. Tim's speaking voice will blow you away, not to mention his deep slide at the end of Robe Of White. What an amazing bass singer- THE best in SG Quartets in my opinion:)

It’s awesome how great Tim’s voice has got over the years. He sounds the same but better. His talking voice has definitely got lower from when they first come out in the 80’s.

Yes, one of the best SG bass singers EVER in my book! I saw him and talked a little with him before one of the concerts at the NQC and his voice without the mic EQ was still sooo deep. And he's a tall guy too. I'm 6'3" and I looked up to him a lttle. Very nice guy also!

Very sad that Chris Cooper only sang with them for a little while, because he really was an incredible tenor.

Neat that you were there too. I know I will never forget it! I actually saw Tim and spoke to him before the performance. I was shocked how low his speaking voice was even without a mic. I think this was when they had been looking for a new bass singer. I asked him if they had found one and he said yes. I think he was talking about his return!

John Packard I went with family to Quartet Convention and other concerts for years. I live close to Pigeon Forge and haven’t gone since it moved here. Hopefully next year. I am going to NQC Spring Break in Sevierville and a Tribute Quartet Concert Sunday and a Jubilee concert with Legacy Five and Greater Vision. Gold City is timeless though. This by far is a fave of mine.

Ah, you are blessed to live there. We've been to Dollywood three times and NQC in Louisville twice. I was just telling my wife we need to go to NQC in Pigeon Forge now! Kingdom Heirs are my favorite quartet. I sat through their performances twice last time I was in Dollywood. They're an amazing group- the best to me nowdays!

John Packard love the Kingdom Heirs. I practically live at Dollywood it seems especially this time of year. 😂😂. Tribute Qusrtet was recommended to me by several friends and for the past few months I have heard them on here. I was blown away. First time me seeing them in person is Sunday.
