Congratulations Clem, great to watch along. I'm looking at getting a detector too, and hopefully will get the exiting rush of finding something nice before too long. (I can find coins by eye, and deduction; hunting for metal patches concentrated by water... but only copper coins so far, and finding gold in costume jewellery job lots off ebay is relatively easy, but nowhere near the thrill of finding something historic in the wild).🙂

Recently found a gold quarter noble and had exactly the same " it won't really be gold" reaction . Was very exciting once I realised what it was, but it must be an age thing as I didn't do dance either. Great video, keep on going. Andy

99 times out of 10 it would be a 5 centimes, but there was a split second I thought it was gold, like you always do when you find a gold beer bottle top. So then it actually was! :)
