Remember 2 person with six eyes cant exist but another can be born after the previous one dies ,so kenjaku instead opted for sealing six eyes rather than killing.. so there will be fight for his body retreival thats for sure either way.. i guess kenjaku has a proper plan up his sleeve to seal weakened/near death gojou somehow rather than let him die or like that if he isnt dead .. So i dont know if he is dead or not( i personally think he is for mc yuji plot).. but hope gege has planned something for gojou..

Just like Lord Krishna could end the Battle of Kurukshetra if he wanted, in a snap, Gojo's presence is not in the way of the main characters. Gege Akutami just hates Gojo Satoru. If Gojo Satoru ~ Lord Buddha, and Lord Buddha ~ Lord Krishna, my analysis is fair enough I guess. I love Gojo, and Sukuna is a Badass character as well. But Gege is just being arrogant and making excuses to nullify his hatred for Gojo. Gege made Jujutsu Kaisen. Gege made Gojo. So his hatred is quite unsatisfied and not so justified!
