About the growling, it is a spin off to what is known as belting in opera. So they are actually singing, thats how they manage to avoid damaging their vocal cords. But it requires a lot of control because you can damage your cords if you mess up. The fact these guys can tour for months and play full sets without a damaged voice is testament to their singing ability.

I'm late to the party, but on that note about washing the guitars out with reverb: Gojira actually used to stack a ridiculous amount of guitar tracks on their records. I remember reading Joe saying that they had like 18 guitars playing the same riff on "Backbone." So that reverb sound you're hearing is just the small human differences in each track creating all of that space!

I'M SO EXCITED TO WATCH THIS REACTION I'm glad you dug this one. This is the quintessential Gojira track for me. The groove they have throughout this one is just so funky it's impossible not to bob your head along to. And the beginning is such a great journey into the rest of the mood.

Aww hell yeah, another one of my fave bands! Everyone is excited for the new album dropping at the end of this month. Amazonia is a new single off of it, and everyone's reactions are getting blocked. My guess is because proceeds from the song go to a thoughtfully-researched charity working to preserve the Amazon forest's nature and indigenous people. So they are trying to funnel all views to their channel for that. Could also be because, as you said, the project hasn't been released yet. There's more info about their charity thing in the official vid as well as a separate vid just about the effort and on their site. Great tune.

When I first heard this song and the entire album, it really changed my view on what makes heavy music great. Gojira always push the boundaries with their music and it pays off for the listener. Especially those listening for the first time. Great video and reaction.

So happy to see you get this one under the belt! Hands down, my favorite Gojira track. It has such a massive, heavy sound and a riff that reminds me of a ship getting thrashed around by the waves of a violent thunderstorm. Awesome breakdown from a (de)composer's perspective!

This channel is getting better and better, in other words, Geebz is the reactionman, the king of breakdowns, on top of the stairs punching the light out of Rocky's eyes! BAM! Let's all give him a round of applause! He is modest, passionate and he actually knows what he is talking about. 🤘

Geebz! Glad you got around to this one. It's quite a majestic track in their discography. I see many people asking for The Art Of Dying, which you should definitely check out, but let me also recommend their selftitled double track on this album, "From Mars..." and "...To Sirius". It'll hurtle you out into space and crashland you back into the heavy, it's simply amazing. Keep up the great content! :)
