Yup, the chugging riff is a nightmare to keep up in between the full-on tremolo (as in the beginning riff). I know Joe could pull it off, it would just require so much practise..

You can also add Lizard Skin, Love and Deliverance The first album is a true masterpiece. I was really lucky to have seen them for their fist tour as Gojira (2001, Toulouse, France)

While Metallica are a big influence for Joe and Mario, Mario's drumming comes more from jazz than from anywhere else. He took Jazz drumming lessons solely to become a better drummer, and it shows.

U know, my first heavy mental song I ever heard was damage inc. It change my life and felt real emotion in music. Never went to puss music again. Listen to some mettallica last week. As was enjoying a joint listen I realize how boring Lars actually is.

Great reaction. I love the groove it get's into midway. And it feels sustained. You just don't want it to move on though. Such a badass groove.

the outro leads to the start of vacuity, and it has great impact on how this goes after this track. if you would listen to vacuity I would suggest you do it listening to esoteric again and then jump right in. its absurd

The outro is the same as 'The Art of Dying' and yes, it's guitar tracks played backwards. I reversed it once for fun to hear what it originally sounds like. And yes, we all need to see them live :) I think it's a good idea to have a first listen with pure reaction, and a second listen with commentary. Keep up the nice work! Gojira - Pray

Been awhile since I came back and watched these Gojira reactions, had to check this one out again for sure as it's my favorite from this record. Second only to Oroborous. Love the channel guys, you have the same love for music I do and I love that you do these videos man.

I saw Gojira in 2012, they played the song 'Of blood and salt' for the very first time ever played live! I filmed it. It is on my YT channel. Frederik Thordenhal (Meshuggah guitarist) and Devin Townsend (no need to even say where he's from as everyone knows he is a fkn GOD) were on stage with Gojira during this song!

Love the Gojira songs you pick! I was listening to their older stuff and think you would really enjoy the Terra Incognita album. That being said I think you need to react to LIZARD SKIN off that album!

I just found out about GORJIRA about a week ago.......🤯🤯🤯 INCREDIBLE!!!

It's either a diminished 5th or 7th or one other possibility that can't think of the term that makes the whole song for me is that drop midway. The whole track is heavy as fuck but god damn they make that drop and it's like fuck yeah here's the groove.

The backward sound reminds me of how the Outro was on The Art of Dying... I think that is the Outro it sounds similar to.

I would suggest you to react to Meshggah. In my book, Gojira and Meshuggah are the worlds two heaviest bands. Everybody would say to react first to Bleed, which is the most popular song, but i'd love you to react first to Demiurge. Have a nice day:)
