Just so you know, the studio version of Pray, which is amazing, doesn’t have the second bit that this live version has. This live version is extra special.
One of their BEST live performances, heavy ass music, great cinematography and video quality, audio quality is insane, almost studio like, post production and mixing is amazing. My favorite live performance to go back to during quarantine!

Mate we love Gojira over here 🔥🔥 They sound incredible live. They have some of the best sound engineers in the game! Mouth of Kala NEXT, you loved Explosia so this song will draw you back in. Still intense, but melodic nonetheless it's a journey. L'enfant Sauvage- English translation "Wild Child" You the title track already but I know you'll love this album, I know it!

If you want the best live video quality do their pol and rock festival 2018. All the songs are timestamped. Amazing audio quality in that entire video
Only Pain is another great one from the Magma album
Need more Opeth here. May be The Baying of The Hounds or may be The Funeral Portrait. Anything is fine actually, just more Opeth.

The Baying of the Hounds is so damn epic. Ghost Reveries is a great album to start with Opeth for any new listener honestly, one of their most clean and best albums definitely.

The volcanic volumes of entranced metalized mantras that this track sends out 'cross the blackened skies is perfect for the epic setting of Red Rocks. Its valley like structure is perfect to echo that Godzilla sized outro to stomp out the songs final path. Live, it has such a huuuuge, phat , meaty sound that is engineered and backboned by Mario's machine like propelling. I like the more clean tone approach that Joe takes in general in parts of the Magma album. I like his singing voice, and though tis a lil' undervolumed here, it still sounds cool. Red Rocks of course, has hosted many a memorable show, including U2's " Under a blood red Sky" show from '83's "War" tour. Nice to see ya gorgin' into Gojira again, m'chara.
Explosia would be another good example of heaviness,great timing on drums and very very good taste of music!!!!

Can you even imagine that concert? That venue, Devin Townsend, Gojira and Opeth the same fucking night.
All the heaviness & bass guitar was just grooving and it got me
I like this live version of Pray because of the added atomspheric guitar parts and drum solo they had. That's the best kind of live concert - when the band and the crowd is in the moment and they have extra pieces of the song that extend and amplify what was on the record. AAaaaand some new bands next up! "Nonagon" by Car Bomb "Philistine Philosophies" by SikTH "I, the Destroyer" by Monuments "Repugnant" by The Odious
Fun fact: Everyting from about 6:50 to 11:11 isn't on the album version of this song. The build up that starts at 6:39 is there, but it only lasts a few seconds before going into the final riff.

If you want some lesser known Gojira tracks that absolutely slap, anything of their first 2 albums would fit In particular: Space Time, In The Forest, The Link, Embrace the World, Blow Me Away You (Niverse) All these songs I think would be even better from a reaction to the songs live from The Link (Alive) album, you can watch all the songs live here on KZread, in particular Blow Me Away You (Niverse)! The outro will put you into a trance

I had a hard time hearing Joes vocal first couple times as well, but once I looked up the lyrics I realized its a bit of the mix but mostly his vocals are few and really elongated and light making them feel like a whisper. Once you read the lyrics they are very obvious.
They are fucking bliss, truly amazing
The first time I saw Gojira live, they opened for Metallica and I'd never heard of them before. I wondered why the drummer had his own spotlight. And then I found out why. Next up: Vacuity? It's my favorite Gojira song, super heavy with a powerful message and they uploaded the original music video to their own YT page not too long ago.

Back to Gojira? Fuck ya. Remembrance. Remembrance! REMEMBRANCE! The live version of that one is great too (audio quality isn't as good as the studio tho). You've heard that suggestion tho. If you want a less popular one from The Link, "Inward Movement" is fucking great.

Like I said, the trick for you enjoying gojira again is to do the last 2 albums. The heaviness of their older stuff put you off doing them so do their newer album. This was a sick reaction, nice one
Hey man, half of this show is the power and talent that is Gojira. The other half is Red Rocks amphitheater itself. It’s up in the clouds and perfectly focuses the sound and energy upward. Opeth was the next band and the temperature dropped about 40 degrees in 1hr. It got so cold but the sound was unbelievable. You need to make it a goal to go there in your life. Indescribable.

@@edwardo123 you are totally right. At that time I didn’t know much about him so I sadly didn’t really watch him. Now he is one of my favs and I’m kicking myself for not caring more!! Oh the concerts we took for granted back then 😥
I used to live in Colorado and Red Rocks Amphitheater is the most amazing place I have been to for a concert I have been there three times.

I was at this show and I originally went to see Opeth, but I have been hooked on the Devin Townsend Project and Gojira since. I also just realized I’m wearing the same sweatshirt I was wearing at the show. It was freezing and windy.

the whole concert is epic !!! , (with a funny intro to "stranded") ,go deeper with the link alive dvd concert with "remembrance" ,just ridiculous how tight they are."the flesh alive" dvd concert is great too , pick any track from it ,they're all amazing !!! - avoid the "vieilles charrues" concert , Joe's voice wasn't at its best that day , otherwise , any concert will do ,really. but you NEED to check "remembrance" , you won't regret it

The Odyssey by Symphony X is a 24 minute masterpiece. You should react to it. It's less of the hard metal, and focusing more on the instruments like Dream Theater.
