    Extremely insightful discussion. I find myself in a similar situation as I to aim to pursue my studies abroad. Being a practicing Muslim, the thought of shifting to a western country, albeit temporarily, is nerve-wracking; co-education, rampant nudity, declining religious values and many more perverse beliefs, indeed it is an environment I fear. This talk guided me on how to live my in the future. Thank you very much. May Allah bless all of you. I learnt from each speaker. I will give Dawah there.

    See the problem with this mother is that they didn’t raise the kids as per the religion. If you teach your kids religion from the time they are 3 plus years, they absorb it and specifically if parents are practicing. I raised my daughter in uae and Canada but started teaching her our values from 6 years onwards. She is in 3rd year university in Canada and tells me she doesn’t want to settle there because it clashes with her religion. She wants to live in Pakistan, not even UAE where she was born. It’s all because I practiced what I preached. She prays 5 times a day and won’t go out to the mall if it clashes with her namaz time.

    So the main issue is to practice what you teach and from a young age. Being a responsible parent is not easy that’s why we get jannah.

    @Lavender "She wants to live in Pakistan, not even UAE where she was born." So what is the benefit (is it worth) of doing a good tarbiah all alone (since the environment is all opposite) if after all she sees and faces the clash and wanna go to Pak probably because its uncomfortable and awkward being a (muslim practicing) stranger in that society.

  • @lavender6080

    @lavender6080

    @@WakqasAhmedOfficial she wants to live in Pakistan because in Pakistan she can be free to express her religious or even personal views without fear of being labelled a racist and ostracised. Once she is labelled a racist, she has no chances of career progress. She cannot wear a hijab without fear of being attacked physically or psychologically. It’s not about being a stranger, it’s about their tolerance, if you don’t accept or agree with what they believe in then you are not tolerated. In a free society everyone should be allowed to practice their religious and otherwise beliefs. Secondly, good tarbiah is not done to fit in somewhere, that’s the strangest thing I’ve ever heard. I don’t even know where to start explaining things to you! We are Muslims and our religion teaches us good manner/tarbiah .... people accepted Islam because of the mannerisms and good treatment of peoplev(part of our tarbiah) Don’t mix good tarbiah with freedom of religious expression. She also does not want to live there because she cannot raise practicing Muslim kids there as starting from daycare they expose to LGTBQ to make the kids believe it’s normal. As for UAE, only locals have full rights, expats are not treated equally and this is our firsthand experience for decades so no one can claim otherwise. Do you understand or have further questions?

    Most people know all this. The main thing is that our own country is not providing jobs and living necessities. We need to fix the root cause, u need to do a program on that. This generation dont impressed by any so-called "Goras". They r frustrated by unethical behavior and flood of corruption in our own country. It's good that u highlighted points that r needed to highlight.

    In pakistan and many muslim there is limited intermingling but look at the problems that pakistan and other muslum countries are facing. It all depends on families , if you tell children the concept of halal and haram from the beginning , and if husband and his family and wife and her family, all of them are on the same page then there is no problem with children. No western or Eastern country can change the person if a person has strong foundation. Again we all studied in western universities, and I’ll tell you we saw many muslim men whether they were from pakistan or saudi arabia , many of them had girlfriends . These are the gender differences we teach our children from the very young age. A boy is allowed to go to prom parties . A girl is not. Isn’t prom party bad from everyone. Islam i learned from my western University. Where i learned to question things and my first paper was on sura noor in front of western teacher and students who thought Britishers came to the Subcontinent to make railway. You cannot tell a muslim man to suddenly act like a Muslim at the age of 18 and 20 when he never saw true religion in his home country, infact only saw only subcontinent values , or values that were left by imperialism. These children from their own countries have no identity. They have never seen their fathers and mothers reading the quran . In pakistan families the fathers or mothers don’t even read the namaz bajamat. If traveling was that bad people like Ibn batuta, Imam Ghazali works wouldn’t be here. The easy way out is to blame other people for your mistakes. Mash Allah in these western countries we saw women doctors, engineers, teachers who wear scarf and perform their duties. And get lot if respect from American men especially. Due ti this many men have reverted back to Islam. These men then volunteer in our masajids and communities since Muslim man are not very much involved in volunteer work for some reason or another. But new muslim men are now emerging in western countries with their strong identities. S you find them educated with worldly religion plus in their own religion. Now I think we should have why Islam bill boards in muslim countries. These days you cannot even marry ahl kitab because before Christianity and Judaism was very close to Islam. Not any more . They drink and do everything. Many muslim men they get married to non muslims and their children then follow wives’ religion and values. At the same times we have also seen that when a christian women revert to Islam they have changed these men in to good muslims men . Also many pakistani men come to get green card. As soon they get green-card they will divorce the pakistani girl. So many cases right now.

    Well i could only listen half of what our brothers had to say. However, i disagree with most of the things they had to say. I would summarise my points below: 1) Firstly, from a fiqhi perspective, before taking any action we need to know it's hukm from the Shariah. This is the first step. If we do not start at this point, then we would end up getting wrong conclusions. Indeed, there is a hadith in which the Prophet(pbuh) disallowed living among the mushrikeens. However, this hadith has a context which is ' In the presence of an Islamic State OR Darul Islam, a muslim is not permitted to stay in Darul Kufr'. Therefore, Pakistan OR Saudi Arabia is as same as Canada or UK, because these Muslim countries do not implement the Sharia. So they fall under the category of Darul Kufr. So it does not matter wherever the Muslim's live because of absence of darul Islam. However, if the Muslim's are not allowed to practise their Deen such as Salah OR fasting, then they must emigrate to a place where they can pray etc. 2) Secondly, brothers discussed that it is a threat to the imaan of Muslims if they prefer to settle in a western country. I believe that this contention is weak and reflects the defeatist mentality of Muslim's. This is because we as Muslim's are the flag bearers of Islam and have been given the responsibility to carry the message of Islam through dawah to the entire world. Rather than thinking that we might loose our eman if we emigrate, why don't we think that we would be a cause of non Muslims entering into Islam in western countries through our dawah. Just to elaborate, we know that no muslim army went to Indonesia OR Malaysia and it was the Muslim merchants who went there for businesses and ended up doing so much dawah that almost the entire population accepted Islam. These muslim merchants who went there, they married the local people and settled there turning those places in to Muslim place. Moreover, the contention of fear of Imaan shows our intellectual weakness that we are unable to highlight the false aqeedah of individualism, capitalism, liberalism etc. A Muslim is brave, smart and intellectual and therefore we need not fear liberal ideologies which are prevalent in western countries and on the contrary, we should expose inconsistencies in them and call people to Islam all over the world.

    Unfortunately really disappointed to see the panel and show. What is the credibility of Mr Mughera on speaking such critical issues? He is saying woman should never travel without mahram? Ok so lady must wait for mahram even her kid is dying or sick ? Lets wait for mahram while all other nations are taking key positions in all professional industries like engineering, medical etc. Muhhamad Ali please choose your panel wisely. Background of your panel is important. What is yhe message of this episode? Don't go to west? Or wait till you get married etc. Records show that Pakistan drug deaths are far higher than west.
