Beta fish are kept in the little cups in stores so they don’t fight! Once you own one though they need at least a 20 gallon tank each 😊

They can be kept in a minimum of 5 and 10 gallon tanks, 20 gallons sounds really cool but it would need A LOT of rest spots for the fish.

Yeah, they prefer more thick swampy plants for lots of cover. They survive well in 5 or 10 gallon some even smaller tanks, but they do fight other fish.

About the Betta fish- they are actually supposed to be in at least 10gal tanks, each. It's really stressful for them to be in those small containers. I got a betta as an adult and the person at PetSmart lied, said I could keep him in a 1gal tank with no ventilation or heating. I did my research later and realized I was basically neglecting him. He died before I got his new tank set up. They're supposed to live for a while, and they need a lot of space and specific temperature and whatnot. They play games and they recognize your face. Don't buy bettas from PetSmart, buy them from a reputable breeder who actually cares about teaching you how to care for them properly.

People actually do come to petsmart for bdsm reasons lol. I work at one and two older ladies came in to buy a long cat toy with feathers at the end of it, when I asked them how many cats they had they told me the toy was for them & that they had no cats.

I'm remember getting Betta fish as a kid. I was told they're nicknamed Chinese Fighting fish and they're in the little bowls cuz the can't be kept in a big tank together, or they'll piece each other up!

@@AmyB369 Of course they need more space! The cheap Pet Stores just keep them in those tiny bowls until they're sold. Then they'll upsell a big aquarium for the buyer to purchase for the fish!

Betta fish specifically males CANNOT be with other males , they are aggressive and will kill each other but the females could live together (some exceptions ofc ) but the male bettas should at least be in a 2 gallon tank !

If your mom says the dogs chew up toys, have her try kong tough (the black versions), barkbox super chewer (these are even at Walmart and sometimes TJMaxx/Marshalls), or the bullymake subscription box (this is the toughest).

Love the video 😂 Also for anyone who doesn’t know about Beta fish they are also know as fighting fish. So CAN’T be kept with other beta fish but CAN be kept with other types of fish that don’t flare their fins or don’t intimate them (5 minutes of research will educate you on what fish are okay). They need at least a 5 gallon tank but the bigger the better and being tropical fish they will NEED a heater and a filter. Fish need an interesting environment of either real or fake plants (real is better for good bacteria but can be harder to maintain) so they don’t get bored. Please educate yourself before buying any fish and remember regular water changes of 20% is need plus good bacteria additives are encourage. I’m not an expert and am just trying to help so research and professional advice is better than this comment. They are living animals too.

Bettas are aggressive, they can’t stay in a tank with others. They still deserve something other then a plastic container. When I was little tho I did witness two bettas who actually shared a space together peacefully, they were at a cash advance where the coworkers teamed up to care for them everyday. It was impressive and I’ve never seen it physically possible since.

While I'm here I'd just like to make a little PSA....Hamsters need AT LEAST a 40 gallon tank as a habitat. Those tiny plastic hamster cages are trash and should honestly be illegal to sell. Actually most of the habitats sold for small animals and reptiles are way too small.

I was waiting for Jacob to ask the teller, "How much can I get for a Lucas in the window?" 🤣🤣 I noticed there was no Eco activists there at that PetSmart with a card telling you to eat the bugs.

@@annepickens2042 Yes, quite a few times as they are pushing the whole no meat, live ECO friendly. We had ones at stores, not PetSmart over Christmas claiming you can eat your tree after you take it down. Some people are just crazy, as there is even cook books now about cooking bugs.

btw to answer the question what eats small crickets, it’s a lot of animals but my whites tree frogs eat small/medium crickets!! and the shortage genuinely did effect us for a bit as they didn’t have any crickets for them! recently i’ve been getting them from a local reptile shop but before where i lived i couldn’t get them like anywhere! lol
