At 59:00 you start talking about Jesus had different emotions based on which Bible translation. What verses are you specifically talking about?I tried looking it up and only found indignant and compassion… what version has angry?

@@historytheology Akhi, another thing. The Jewish Study Bible is for Reform/Conservative Jews, just like New Oxford Study Bible is for Mainline Protestant Christians. But JPS is not for Orthodox Jews. So, I searched for some Orthodox Jewish Tanakh. The Steinsaltz Tanakh is a three volume Orthodox Jewish Study Bible. Maybe useful for you. I might buy it if they publish a single volume edition.

@@hassanmirza2392 thank you for your survey and letting me know. The artscroll is more jewish than the jps. But the JPS is a critical edition. I prefer to look at critical editions than devotional ones. Which is why I’ve not looked into the artscroll. But someday I want to. So thank you your information

Many Jews/Christians are non-practicing. But I think half of all practicing Jews and Christians are quite liberal now, so they do accept liberal-critical Bibles and commentaries (NRSV, JPS, Oxford and HarperCollins). But the other half is quite conservative like Muslims. I think most of Muslims do not accept any liberal teachings of Islam, thankfully.

@@historytheology ArtScroll is ultra-conservative, their notes are very skewed. Koren/Steinsaltz is similar to ESV/NIV (Study) Bibles and is moderate-conservative. While NRSV/JPS is for liberal Christians/Jews.

I have not read in full but the very Introduction by Dan Wallace threw me away. Especially his early statement that even the worst Greek manuscripts contain enough of the Gospels…I found this to be a dishonest claim. And he definitely knew better. We do not have the complete Mark until Sinaiticus (350-75 CE), so if this is what he call the worst Greek MU, then the worst G-MU is also our best MU. So what is he talking about? It does not gel with lots of other scholarship materials out there.
