the link between the dark and the sleeping pills is so interesting. we can see that when the light switches off, mingyu’s other identity comes out and kills. and when it’s back on, he’s mingyu again. this happens throughout the entire episode but it’s more prevalent at the end. when minghao is gone, the light turns on and mingyu is confused because he’s the only one left. the light turns off again, and he’s dead because he killed himself as his other identity. so when it’s dark, he’s his other identity. which is where the sleeping pills come into play. at first I assumed the pills were just because he was traumatised from his abuse and his fathers death (nightmares maybe?), but since the dark is relevant, then it seems to me that he perhaps got the sleeping pills so that he forces himself to sleep at night, when it’s dark, rather than stay awake during the night when his other identity is out for blood. mingyu chose the pills, his other identity didn’t. obviously this may not be true, since we don’t know if mingyu killed people when he wasn’t in the time frame of the bsk meeting, but it’s just my own guess so don’t be too harsh if you disagree haha. Anyway! I always come back to rewatch this episode because the acting of all of them, and the constant state of confusion and suspense is so enthralling!! Hopefully bad clue continues for every season, I loved the recent bad clue so much too!

I honestly don't think he knew that his character was the culprit. He didn't purposefully act and try to hide something. He was genuinely surprised that the members died in the order that he wrote down, so I think he didn't remember the exact order he wrote down. He still suspected Minghao at the end and didn't seem completely sure of anything to me. Still, he fit the vibe and setting. It's always great to watch him figuring things out. 😅

Explanation for the end !!! When mingyu is first left by himself there's still a statue for him on the table -> then the lights go off at 21:52 - > the statue is then gone meaning Park Mingyu's identity was already killed off (or suppressed) -> 22:05 the identity left is that of Park Joongi, the father, he is quiet and just stares forward (mingyu's acting is rly good here) -> the lights turn off for the second time and this time mingyu's body has gone, meaning park joongi killed himself, as mingyu had witnessed as a child in 2005. His father's death was probably the traumatic incident that led to his development of DID, and also why he created a personality of his father's without even knowing. Going Seventeen is always so good, they're really pushing the standards for content so high, honestly the members and the staff/editors always do such an amazing job.

Been looking for this comment also. The way he correctly deduced the culprit very early in part 1, wooaahh.. I think Hoshi is really excelled in connecting the dots between scrambled clues and he also excelled in reading face expression (maybe related also with him being perfo leader), like in mafia game. For me, Hoshi is criminally underrated as smart person. Yes he is not as fast as mingyu and jeonghan when it comes to calculative things, but actually he is very smart. Also, the other one who's underrated is woozi. Because he is more of a quiet type so it's a little bit overshadowed, but when times come like in Surprise Don't Lie, he can rise into the occasion, like in part 1 of this episode also..

Mingyu's POV is sad. If you actually see it in his perspective, you just sleep after crying, grieving the loss of your Father. Then one day, you wake up, not knowing you were already a murderer, then not being able to shoulder everything as everyone starts suspecting you but you really don't know so you just end up committing suicide. :'(

His fathers personality was writing those letter and killing everyone His fathers, personality calls himself "Park Joongki", Mingyu is not aware he has his fathers personality's that is why he did not know he was the culprit, At the end Mingyu disappears why? Because His fathers personality takes over completely and kills mingyu. If you still do not understand " Park joongki Aka His father Lives In mingyus body, At the end one statue was left that was mingyu's statue but when the lights turned off, the statue was gone, why? Because mingyu was killed by his personality Park Joongki and he toke over. And as you can see when the news came Park Joongki turned it off before sungkwan could finish, meaning he was watching the news.

i like to think this too but also minghao is incredibly good at these type of games. for example, he always guesses the mafias in don't lie first even without evidence. he's very quick to catch up on clues and very smart! if anything, this just shows that mingyu doesn't underestimate him

holy shit guys, notice how there were actually TWO blackouts when only mingyu was alive, heres what i think. so when minghao dies, we see only mingyu and the last remiaining statue when the lights come back on, but then, there is a second blackout, we then see just mingyu and no statue when the lights come back on again. after the second blackout, mingyu is acting odd and is smiling after everyone is killed, why is this? because the identity park joongi actually KILLED the identity of mingyu so that the body and mind of mingyu STAYS as park joongi. this is why there are no remaining statues left and why mingyu acts so weird after the second blackout.

5:23 this clip made Jeonghan appear so suspicious lmao like, the little tiny smile like he was plotting something and him seeming happier has the guys died cracked me up. Also, Wonwoo, Jeonghan and Minghao being the last 3 standing ( apart from Mingyu ofc) is the least surprising thing ever to me, like these 4 are the one i consider to be the smartest in stuff like this( special mention to Hoshi and Seungkwan too)

Mingyu and Minghao really owned this episode. Roles aside, it is evident that when they were questioning each other they are more confused since they are best friends and they should know when is the other telling lies. The expressions in there faces showed betrayal before the lights were turned off.

Honestly Mingyu’s story is so sad. Imagine being 5 yrs old and witnessing one of your parents commit suicide right in front of you and the fact that his brain had to come up with these multiple personalities to cope with / block the trauma ): our poor child awh

Actually i read from twitter, in the letter park junki commited suicide when mingyu's birthday. Then mingyu start having identity disorder

MINGYU IS A MVP OF BAD CLUE! REALLY 😍😍 the scene between him and minghao at 21:15 is epic and gave me goosebumps. And then he's just sitting there with coffee like a real culprit

STANDING OVATION TO THE TEAM BEHIND THIS CONCEPT! I love how even the members don't know how the story will go and was so into it and analyzing even after they're out

This episode is so good, the way mingyu wrote the member in order is good, keeping jeonghan and hao till the end

So basically, Park Mingyu isn't the murderer. It is Park Joongi as his other personality. Poor Mingyu :'(((

That was epic. I was genuinely scared at the last minutes and doubting everyone. Mingyu’s acting was great. At first, I didn’t get was going on. Then, Seungkwan said about the multiple disorder, that’s when it hit me. It was suspenseful. Loved it. At the end, when the Going Seventeen song played all cheerful and I was still shocked. 😅. Anyways loved it. 😌👌🏻
