Going Off-Grid in Antigua - Episode 23
In this episode we experience the lesser traveled islands of Antigua. Our first stop is Green Island, where we find a maze of mangroves, discover Devil's Bridge National Park and celebrate Beau and Deren's birthdays. Our next stop is Great Bird Island for an amazing view. We the head to Deep Bay to visit a local bee farm. We hope you enjoy our journey!
Cheers!

This was a pretty cool excursion to the deserted island to snorkel and hike around. Those were some nice folks who wanted to show off their bee farm. It was a pretty nice bee farm.
Deren reminds me of a good friend I had in the military. What an awesome life!!

Hahaha! We were wondering if anyone would notice!
It's interesting that there's an apiary there. I'm betting that the honey is very unique.. With our eventual nomad bus travels, I'm planning to try honey from apiaries throughout the continent. Many people don't realize that honey comes in myriad flavors based on what the bees have been pollinating. My current favorite honey is a Japanese knotweed honey. Terrific in my chai.

We have come across a few apiaries during our travels and we have learned quite a bit. Bees are quite fascinating creatures. The honey in Antigua is pretty delicious.

Yes they sure do! Check them out - Sailing Too Short, Deren and Kristal and the nuggets, Sammy and Frankie!
I hear a question about if spraying orchards could be done during the night ......to DECREASE bee fatal #s .......which may possibly increase bee hive health. Yes way more costly......But possibly an instant yet easy ( yet not easy) way to help bee health globally. Coffee talk

Interesting theory! I'll see what the beekeeper says about this and report back!
Any idea why the corral was dying there in the middle of nowhere? Maybe the industrial port nearby?

We believe that shallow reef was damaged by a hurricane a few years back, and it takes an extremely long time to recover.

@@SailingOneLife we looked at Two Morgan 44’s a little out of our price range, a Cat 36 forgot the name lol. Needed a lot of work, two Oday 34. It was really our first weekend really looking hard. We’re really looking for a Center Cockpit because of the safety or will make her feel better. Lol. Wasn’t a big selection In Brunswick, Ga. but that’s the closet to our house and we only had two days. We plan to hit up the east coast of FL during her Spring break!
