Congratulations on being able to bring your high quality hearing care program to Australia. It is always interesting to see where there is a connection and need in other English speaking countries and that you have an ability to meet that need. Although my desire to get Sticky candy in Australia will not constitute a move to the country, should my Hearing Up audiologist, Scot Frink, Aud, choose to make a move to Australia, i may have to consider moving. Food and great audiological care and all the technological innovation like the NAL and Auracast might make it worthwhile.

Can confirm that the website is up and working well! It’s incredibly easy to use and tbh probably the easiest interactive map I’ve ever come across! Unfortunately my hearing provider ‘Hearing Australia’ and the Audiology department at the Royal Brisbane and Woman’s hospital aren’t listed. Although RBWH don’t provide HA’s but they do do hearing implants such as the BAHA, Cochlear implant, the newly approved (Well newly approved here) Cochlear Osia, which is what I’m waiting for however it could literally be years before I even receive it.

They will never be listed on Hearing Up because they are taxpayer funded and don't need to market their services using schemes like this.

You next step is: Comprehensive Best Practices stops being Comprehensive Best Practices! And becomes Minimum Required Standards for all AUD's. Because it SHOULD BE!!!!!

Australia has a taxpayer-funded National Hearing Services provider called Hearing Australia that is affiliate with their National Acoustics Laboratory and a National Hearing Services Programme (HSP) that funds hearing aid costs for adults up to a certain amount. In order to access this funding, clinicians in Australia need to submit the real-ear measurements for each device with the funding application and the aids must be shown to have met NAL prescription formula targets. So every clinicians working with the HSP must be performing real-ear measurements on their clients. I don't see how you can possibly argue that the situation RE: patient care is worse in Australia than it is the United States. It simply isn't factually true. Not all clinics may perform at the same level as yours in regards to comprehensive best practices and using test box measures, but from what I've seen overall the standards in Australia are superior to what is happening in the USA and the outcomes in terms of device satisfaction and usage are better overall on average.
