Going Home After 2.5 Years of Travel (Emotional Reunion)

This is it. After more than two years of traveling, we are finally going home. Full time travel is a dream come true for us, but sometimes we have no choice but to go home. This video is all about that journey home to have an emotional reunion with our family, friends, and dog!
Our travels to Canada begin in Indonesia. We start off in Bali, Indonesia and finish up a few final tasks before starting the VERY long journey to North America. Our first two flights land us in Sydney, Australia, where we less than 24 hours to explore Sydney. We go to Circular Quay in downtown Sydney to view the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Opera House, because what visit to Australia is complete without visiting these landmarks?
After a whirlwind in Sydney we took another three flights to get to us to a beautiful part of Canada called Victoria. This was an extra stop on our trip home, and the whole purpose of this little detour was to visit Nicole's siter and her growing family. We were lucky that our trip back to Canada happened just weeks after my (Nicole) sister had her third baby, so we were able to squeeze in a visit with our newborn niece and his two big sisters. Being away from our little nieces and nephew is one of the hardest parts of full time travel, so this reunion was emotional for everyone.
After a relaxing and beautiful few days of catching up with this part of our family, it was time to take our final flight to Calgary, Canada, where the rest of our families live. We were greeted at the airport by a tearful group of my family, and hurriedly made our way to see our dog Evie, who has been patiently waiting for us to return for 2.5 years. We never planned on being gone for 2.5 years when we left in 2021, so to be reunited with our dog after this long was such an exciting moment!
The final reunion was with Mico's family as we brought both of our families together. Being together as one big group like this is something we have missed so much and is definitely a perk of going home to Canada. Although we LOVE traveling, spending time with family in our home country is something we don't take for granted after being away for so long.

BTW great job on the masterful repair work, and for the mileage you've gotten out of your gear it's held up rather well. Hopefully one day you will do a whole Canada series, but for now it's great to see the three of you doing well where you are currently at in the world.

We would LOVE to do a Canada series one day. It's too expensive at the moment, but one day we would love to explore our home country fully

Hahaaa yes I live in Gold Coast and even I also thought “wow is this it?” for the international arrival area 😂 But damn that is sooo many flights! My bf and I had to go to Wisconsin and we took a layover in Hawaii because it’s so far.
