I live in a tiny village in Scotland, we have a tiny library called a reading nook. Its basically what you see in this video, accept in an old red phone box as they have no use now (everyone has mobile phones). So if you reach out to local govt you might be able to use a similar disused piece of public property.

This couldn’t be more wholesome. The fact that they created such a lovely and beautiful library and make a trade, is so brilliantly and humanly wholesome.

Love how you want to organize the library boxes! LOL

The great thing about those tiny libraries is that you can take a book you might would not even have considered to buy usually. And if you don’t enjoy the book, you can simply return it the next time. And your mum seems so charming. You look very similar 😊

I mena in my country we have them, but inside there is usually just real trash. Like erotic/romance novels and maybe some Czech classics which everyone has, because they were one of the few books sold during communism.

I love how Emmie is like “I loved this book” and her brother’s like “I liked the movie” or “I hated the movie”… lol classic.

I have let both my sons know that I want a little library for my front yard for my July birthday...one of them definitely has the skill to build it himself....there aren't many in my specific area, so I'm hoping I can inspire others, and help bring the neighborhood together even more. The fact that you can register it and people can locate your library is delightful. This was such a different and wonderful video and it was fun to see your family.

My next door neighbors just put up a Little Library in front of their house and it’s GREAT. I’ve unhauled a bunch of books I’ve finished with and picked up some interesting looking titles in return! Love the warm and fuzzy community feel of them 🥰

I love little libraries! I try to always carry at least one or two books in my car in case I see one! I never thought of doing a little day of adventuring just to visit a bunch at once! Such a cool idea!

Emma after watching this video, I went on the website and ended up finding a bunch of little free libraries near me! May or may not have dragged my boyfriend to 10 of them already 😂❤️

This just made my day a lot more better💛💛... I wish we had little library boxes here also

I haven’t seen one of these since I left home in Missouri, but my favorite coffee shop where I live now has two book shelves that are a take it leave it situation as well. Love this! Very reminiscent of my childhood.

Cried several times watching this! Especially when you found The Wind in the Willows since I remember you mentioning it before as being one of your favorite warm hugs!

I absolutely love these mini libraries not all ive found are taken care of but ive started reading alot more books and now have a little library of my own. Whom ever came up with this idea is a genius. I have found cds,puzzles and video games in these angel boxes. Lets keep it up my friends its good for the environment too!

I barely ever comment on anything on KZread, but this video was just so pure and delightful.

I don't think before I would have strayed too much from what was recommended on the internet via what's trending on booktube or stuff constantly recommended on Reddit's r/books, but now you make me want to just pick up any book and see if it interests me so I can try new things :). They were talking about it at the gym. I went to chapters and sat in a chair and read it .. couldn't put it down had to buy it.

This was the best video! I really had fun watching you drive around with your mum and bro, looking at all the book libraries in the streets, but also just having the chance to drive through the street of where you all live, which was so nice!! Thank you so much! You'll have to do this again for us one day!

Truly like the idea of Little Library Box, as the activity of it concerns not only the exchange of books and contents/ideas, but also the afterlife for the unused books to have new experiences of being read and touched.

I do this in my neighborhood, there are around eight within biking distance ☺️ I honestly don't usually find things to actually read, but it's still just fun seeing what's there!

This was so fun to watch. To see book hunting and what you find in the wild, and all the gorgeous arty free library constructions. I'm inspired to build one and secure it at the front of my country property. I hope it catches on here. I like the idea that I'll have a convenient place to shelve my offloads with the possibility of people adding something interesting, and I can still clear things to charity and what not if they're still in there a year later.
