Going Crabbing Off the Pier

In this Video: We go crabbing off a pier because it's crabbing season. We use our ring traps and chicken necks for bait and we catch blue crabs. Crabbing in fun for the entire family. We will show you what we bring and how many crabs we catch while crabbing in July. Check out our other video about our gear and how to improve the crabbing ring traps bought from Walmart: • Crabbing - Catching Bl...
On our channel you will find videos about trails, travel, parks and nature. We post a new full length video on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday.

Nice one! That is a good loot for the day. Interestingly up in New Jersey, the blue crab run is over already, they must be making their way down south

Thanks, over time we have perfected our technique. The first time we tried it we used ice tongs from the kitchen and it was a disaster - couldn't get any grip on the crabs!

At the Delaware coast, several of their state parks have piers where you can crab off of.

Nice, I used the same technique off a dock on Long Island, New York. That was over 50 years ago when I was a young teen.

That's awesome. I see lots of people use the small box type traps, but they would take up more space than we have and these ring traps work.
