I note that a new, refreshed production is about to premiere in Trieste, starring Ramin, and Amelia Milo as Christine. Apparently it has many new special effects and even a flaming chandelier with the Phantom stood on it. The Italians love opera so it will be interesting to see how they react to this. Amelia has a fine voice, and does not overuse vibrato, as many in that role do.
