You have really done your research and I am not surprised that Taiwan ended up on top because this is the best country in Asia. Everyone gets to enjoy the most mesmerizing nature right next to the most modern infrastructure, especially for single female travelers who don't have a lot of world experience. Taiwanese people take good care of everyone.

Kaitlyn, it’s good and bad that you’ve chosen Taiwan to be your first trip abroad by yourself. It’s good because Taiwan is a safe and rather inclusive society. People there have come a long way in the last two decades in welcoming international visitors as well as engaging themselves with peoples all over the world. On the other hands, it’s bad because you might put down your guards next time you travel elsewhere. In any case, there’s a big world out there, and physically going to places is how one could truly appreciate the abundant goodness out there and realizing how blissed we are being Americans. Very best to you and your Father! Kudos! 👏

Tks, this interview remind me my first solo backpack traveling in 1989. Even now I'm 60. Still prefer to travel alone . Still eager to explore an unfamilier country . Because when you travel just by urself. You'll open eyes, ears to all the new things. If go with group, due to talk will miss many things. Also a different culture, language ,food....will surprise us, could make us look back the things we think it's normal in our daily life. Welcome to join Travellers. By the way, so envy you have such a good dad. Who to lead you, courage you. My dad was a very traditional old Japanese style man. We can only obey what he said. And never reach his high standards. Hello from Taipei, Taiwan

Hello, I really don't know how I ended here in this video but I'm really glad that I did it. I smiled through all the video because of the good vibes and the interesting and funny things you guys said. I thought about the hard and difficult relationship between me and my parents as well. I respect and admire very much the way you treat, talk, look, educate and encourage your daughter and I hope I can be a good, loving, caring, intelligent and a good father like you someday. Cheers from Buenos Aires, Argentina!

Fun fact: The egg tart you ate is Portuguese in origin and is very popular around Taiwan and Hong Kong. Most bakeries and dim sum parlors in American Chinatowns make egg tarts.

As a Taiwanese who have traveled to both of Japan and Australia I would say the traffic safety in Japan is much better than that in Taiwan but it's more difficult for you to get involved in their societies because in the bottom of their societies it's not easy for them to accept a foreigner as their country folk if you want to scratch beneath the surface. As for Australia I still remember when I walked on a Zimbra crossing a man about 2 meters high suddenly shouted out and swung at me and I just jumped away in time to avoid the hit.
