I heard this song on my home town radio station when I was 11yrs old back, in 85. Black kid singing this middle school. I will always love country music.👍👍
1985!! sitting at the club bar way down south, deeper than the deep south, the golden plate at the bar read "colorado used to sit here" and this song walking around my head. Sweet memories
I remember swiping this song off Jamaican radio via cassette tape at age 16 back in 1982. I listened to it daily, but listening to it again, some 32 years on, I'm now even more amazed at how crafty and talented songwriters were up to that era!

Anderson, when he sang this on Hee Haw, always said, "Fourteen" instead of "Fifteen". He has a VERY distinctive drawl, doesn't he?
