The DBZ writers hate goku that tho. Goku is like that in the eng version and in other adaptations. In the japanese version he is that carefree only fun kid dude. I enjoy the adaptations take on

There was one version of Gohan vs Cell using the Fairytale OST, and the title was something like "gohan vs cell fairytale ost". By any chance, did anyone watch that? I tried searching on KZread and couldn't find it, which is a shame if it's the case because it was beautiful.

I totally agree that it was a masterpiece!! So sad that it got removed... I remember tearing up the first time I watched it. I had never even heard of Fairytale and was like WTF this music fits so well! The original uploader did a fantastic job with the edit. I'm hoping the video resurfaces one day.

I can only remember one or two instances in Z were being distracted resulted in a one hit k.o. and it was always from a reasonably strong fighter, never a weapon (like Vegeta putting Goku down in the bu saga). Super's writers are just lazy/uninformed

Well, the obvious difference here is that Cell is powering up. When Goku got shot, he wasn't powering up. Also, it's not just Super. Remember, Krillin hurt Ssj Goku with a ROCK. That's even worse than getting hurt by a laser.
