Gohan got done a bit dirty here . He was stated to have kept up his training in GT perfect files and the difference in skill is clear , even in power he wasn't much outmatched by Goten's ssj in just his base form with them both also getting tired at the same time , if he wasn't conflicted in really beating up Goten he would've won without even using ssj .

Looking at Goten and Gohan having some kind of past rivalry is cool, makes them more brother like and relatable

Things start getting interesting from these episodes and onwards

Goten is not only not very expirienced, he also lacks of training. Even more, then Gohan does. But i can't really blame him. The earth is mostly peaceful, bad guys are so weak, that even his normal form is enough to finish potential criminals and if there is a real threat, there were always Goku and Vegeta, who took care of that.

Gt Gohan is stated to have not stopped training . Goten was clearly outclassed in skill here , but he still had enough raw power as an ssj to make Gohan use it too .

@@humanman9920 Thanks, i didn't know that. I thought, Gohan was practicly the same like he was in DB Super and more interested in doing his studies instead of training

​@@Anthyrion I mean he still looks more like a studies guy and we know he isn't gonna be as passionate as Goku and Vegeta for fighting but at least he kept up the training to be ready for sometime like this so respect+ for that . I mean that should've been the lesson from the past no ? The thing in Cell saga was whether he likes it or not he has great potential which may become their last chance against a bad guy so he has to be strong , he left it in Buu saga so i get one time but again and all that happened in that Buu saga again and that time he need to magically get his potential unleashed by Old kai , so good thing he learned from it .

Goten beat fat buu in end of z. By the way gt goten was stronger than baby who is stronger than rildo who is stronger than all forms of buu and the rest of the black star villains

Well before DBS, Ultimate wasn’t considered a transformation, it was his new base form. You can tell by his eye shape. Think back to Elder Guru, Gohan never needed to transform to activate that potential unlock, so that’s what the GT writers assumed Ultimate worked like.

Maybe , i always thought it was just too fast for him to be able to react to it , cuz at this point it's the normal thing for Piccolo to be heavily outclassed by others in physical stats so yeah . Last time he competed to anyone was Cell jr if i remember correctly .
