This is absolutely killer...awesome job! Makes me hopeful that one day someone will put together a fan edit of Godzilla 2014 with Akira Ifukube's scores integrated into the film.

This works insanely well. Kinda wish they'd have even done a brief nod to Ifukube in that movie. Would have been epic.

This is truly a work of art! It would have been interesting to hear Alexandre Desplat's take on Ifukube's Epic score. I think it should have been worked into film some how. I believe this is the closest we will get to that :)

A Jaded Lizard I've heard that they will use original Godzilla themes in the new movie, so maybe I'll do something after it comes out with that music or maybe remake some Ifukube score that they didn't use.

Thank you so much! :) I want to do more but I don't think I'm going to make any more Godzilla 2014 related videos until the second one comes out but maybe I'll make videos for the old movies. Maybe I'll do something similar for Batman and X-men or something different for Sergio Leone movies.

Andrew Morris Agreed. I loved the 2014 Godzilla movie, but to me, this was all that was missing from the story (besides more Monster time-I will grant people that)-Godzilla's true theme! This song HAS to be part of the sequel! It has to be! It's as much a part of the Godzilla story as his roar, his look and his atomic breath is!

Andrew Morris I'd be okay with James Newton Howard. He's the only American composer with any experience writing music for a good daikaiju film. Zimmer wouldn't be bad either, but I think Howard is better.

Stick with Alexandre Desplat or worst case, Howard Shore. NO HANS ZIMMER!!!! He'd make a mess of the score stuffing it with electronics and have Pharrel Williams or someone come in and screw it up more.

Tom Serizawa Zimmer's scores are a lot more memorable than Desplat's. I honestly can't remember a single cue from his score for Godzilla; say Hans Zimmer and I'm sure everyone immediately has a piece he's written spring to mind. The only other composer who does that for me is John Williams.

This is awesome Philip! As an aspiring composer and avid Godzilla fan, I really appreciate what you did with this piece! If I may suggest one thing for future projects: make the percussion slightly lower in the mix. It's a tad overpowering when the melodies are presented. It has the right vibe and presentation, but the melody should be front and center above the percussion. But great work overall! What software libraries did you use to compose this?
