    吹き替え下手かも…字幕でも意味が通じるなら、字幕で頑張って欲しかったです。

So, the original Godzilla from 1954 was a metaphor for the atomic bomb. In the original black & white movie, he was a villain. He was the bomb disguised as a monster. Godzilla was a living dinosaur (like the Loch Ness Monster) that was accidentally irradiated by atomic bomb tests done by the Americans.

This is a foreign film from Japan. The premise of the movie is the survivors of the "Tokyo Fire Bombing of March 10th 1945". Mankind's worst, that had more casualties & lost in history to the Hiroshima Bomb. That morning it rained fire on the civilians of Tokyo. On one (1) date December 1945, WWII has been over for a couple of months. The Tokyo "Black Market" scenes, with the vendors, hustlers and prostitutes, to introduce Noriko & Akiko to Koichi is brilliant. The date March 1946 it's raining heavily, marking the one (1) year anniversary of the "Tokyo Fire Bombing." Ironically Koichi is drenched in rain water instead of fire. As he shares finding steady work; a turning point. Another date is the sinking of the "Takao". It's sudden bombarding of Godzilla is ironic as the "Takao" was offshore in the surprise attack of Pearl Harbor. On March 10th 2024, the 79th anniversary of the "Tokyo Fire Bombing", Takashi Yamazaki & crew was awarded the Oscar in Hollywood California. Takashi Yamazaki tells a great Japanese post WWII story using the great Japanese fictional monster "Gojira", from the fictional Odo Island. That people around the world wouldn't be interested in anyway. Harley Davidson, Koichi's "Black Market" motorcycle, and the Japanese Imperial Army was a surprise discovery. As well as many others which are factual. Done in CGI. Using top Japanese actors. Would you dub Samuel L. Jackson, Halle Berry or a young Raven-Symone? Anyway, the last line, survivor Noriko, looks to the side of the camera and says, "Is your war.......now finally over?". I read that in Japan, after the movie, people applauded. As it was more than just a fictional monster movie but, a factual Japan Post WWII Japanese movie.

Oh BTW, it won an Oscar for Best Visual Effects for just a $10 million budget. First Godzilla movie to ever win an Academy Award.
