Ойын-сауық

#GodzillaMinusOne #Godzilla #JapaneseFilm
So we are back and we have another First time watching. This movie did very well at the Oscar’s behind Oppenheimer. This is GODZILLA MINUS ONE. Japan has barely recovered from the Second World War when a gigantic peril emerges off the coast of Tokyo. Koichi, a deserter traumatised by his first confrontation with Godzilla, sees this as an opportunity to redeem his conduct during the war.

    The black and white scene of the nuclear test on Bikini Atoll is what altered Godzillas cells and caused him to grow.. Godzilla has had the rapid healing for decades this movie chose to make it part of the plot. Expelling his nuclear fire weapon hurts him and tears off bits of himself with it's energy release. It's been speculated that Godzillas DNA can repair /heal damaged human cells.. If you rewatch his attack on the Ginza the radio announcer mentions shards of him that tore off when he fired off his breath weapon were gathered.

    Godzilla's regeneration has been part of the plot for a ton of Godzilla movies. It's always weird when people react to this movie and were surprised he'd do something like that, as someone who's watched every Godzilla movie.

    Yeah, people forget that on top of godzilla’s mad crazy durability, he also got that wolverine like healing factor, unless a more powerful foe like ghidorah or space godzilla or destroyah are only ones that can nullify his healing.

    I haven’t seen a live action film that had me thoroughly engaged like this one since Avengers Infinity War and Endgame, and that says a lot! My cinema experience with Godzilla Minus One was very satisfying, enjoying a lot of the aspects, from the human characters to the terrifying kaiju himself. So glad Godzilla walked away with an Oscar for this film because it was incredible!

    One of the first to the party, let's go! I really love everything about this movie! the characters, the period, what the people of Japan faced after WWII, the music score, the acting, the special effects... and the character arch of Koichi from beginning to end, a true hero to his people after all, especially to Noriko and Akiko!

  • @jmzbondm
    @jmzbondm2 ай бұрын

    I have some observations (or theories): 1. Noriko definitely died, probably got blown to pieces. She regenerated like Godzilla because she now has the Godzilla cell in her. She just doesn't know anything about it yet. 2. This wasn't the first time Godzilla was "killed", I think the American nukes did him first. He not only regenerated but even got bigger from the radiations. 3. After the credits, you hear Godzilla's footsteps getting closer and closer, even louder than before. This may indicate he's grown even bigger now, probably closer to what his normal size is these days (Shin Godzilla, Legendary Godzilla, etc). Also, every reactor keeps saying this that Noriko could have saved herself and Shikishima. She actually couldn't have! She didn't have the time nor the strength to drag her man with her to safety. In a split second she chose to save her man instead.

    1. You are correct that she has gcells since the director himself confirmed it but I wouldn't go so far as to she was like a blood stain akin to a fly being swatted but instead what I and many other believe is that the blast Shockwave saved her in a way that when she either collided with debris or was caught under debris she was most likely on deaths door but thanks to being in the vicinity of the radiation area she was able to regenerate however not on the same level as godzilla considering its a snap of the finger for him. 2. I wouldn't say that the Americans purposely used the bomb on godzilla because he just stays underwater and the only people who knew about him were shikashima and Tachibana as well as the odo island inhabitants but who's gonna listen to a disgraced kamikaze pilot and a crippled if they did say something. Considering that this was the bikini Attol castle bravo test Godzilla just got unlucky again since he lives deep underwater i imagine all that happened was that he got burned as seen in that scene from being in close proximity and thats what transformed him since I don't recall any other iteration saying he dies when it happens. 3. That is actually a very interesting theory that I have seen a few people make so all we can do is wait and see

    Such a fantastic reinvention for Gojira with great characters, great storytelling and no this is not related to the Monsterverse so get that out of your heads. Do not compare these two different versions of Godzilla. Also the two movie's that help inspire this movie is Gojira 1954 and GMK 2001. Y'all should watch them. 5:43 his size right now is 15 meters. After he gets him by the nuclear bomb he'll grow up to be 50.1 meters tall. Slightly bigger than the Showa version

    This movie sticks with you it has heart, soul, emotion, great character arcs and story building. It sounds so very sentimental being set in that time period. What Godzilla represents to the Japanese culture is deeper than just a monster. It's The fallout of nuclear warfare and the fear of it happening again. So as long as the threat of nuclear weapons exist so will Godzilla.. It's literally a masterpiece and gets better with every watch.

  • @stefanhuddleston6816
    @stefanhuddleston68162 ай бұрын

    There's a deeper context when Gojira uses nuclear breath for the first time. When the bombs fell on Japan they were followed by a black rain (kuroi ame), the rain was made black by picking up the particulates kicked up by the bombs. People on the ground were covered in the rain which carried these highly radioactive particulates, and because the bombs destroyed much of the infrastructure a lot of the systems carrying running water did not work so some people drank the rainwater not realizing that it was radioactive which could not be removed by boiling or other cleaning methods. This rain increased the already tragic exposure to radiation of many hibakusha (people affected by the bombs). en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Rain_(novel)

    The mark on her neck at the hospital is a Godzilla cell. It's probably why she survived the blast. But to what end? Will she mutate? Are there other victims who similarly contracted the Godzilla cell? I've also heard that the tattoo on her neck is a symbol for Mothra. Perhaps Mothra will be featured in the next movie?🤔 -OG

    An early line, "Is that a new Yankee Weapon?" Yes, to the tune of a newly developed Bomber & new Incendiary bomb. Developed to RAIN fire on the civilians of Tokyo. Survivors of the "Tokyo Fire Bombing on March 10th, 1945". Mankind's worst, more casualties & lost in his history to the Hiroshima Bomb. The "Black Market" scene to introduce Noriko & Akiko to Koichi shows much about post war Tokyo. On March 1946, one year after the "Tokyo Fire Bombing", Koichi has found a job and is ironiclly drenched in water by the RAIN. Many metaphors in the movie. The sudden bombing of Godzilla by the "Takao" is ironic. Since the "Takao" was involved in the surprise attack of Pearl Harbor. Koichi's Japanese manufactured Harley Davidson Motorcycle is a "Black Market" favorite. The pairing of Harley Davidson Motorcycle and the Japanese Imperial Army was an agreement made decades earlier. Takashi Yamazaki and his crew was awarded the Oscar in Hollywood California on the 79th anniversary of the "Tokyo Fire Bombing", March 10th 2024. The last line Noriko looks to the side of the camera and says, "Is your war.......finally over?" Takashi Yamazaki tells a great Japanese post WWII movie using the Great Japanese Monster Godzilla to the world.

    Something that helps when viewing OG Japanese Godzilla vs the newer American Godzilla is that in Japan Godzilla is a mythical creature that like a force of nature cannot be killed and will come back and can never be controlled. Humans are at the mercy of a force of nature. Shin is an interesting study as it’s a criticism of the Diet (Japanese government) and Tempco (megacorp in charge of Fukushima nuclear facilities) during 3/11. Love Godzilla.

    Great Review And If you haven’t watched the original Godzilla 1954 Better Known as Gojira then you must watch it this movie pays some proper it and from here I would like to see them do another from here Gojira 1954 using some of the real good shots of him and not the so so one with the technology they have now and do it as scary as the original and Minus One Which I thought the original was terrifying as minus one justat a different time this could be a good sequel leading to the 1954 Gorjira because this one was started in 1945 and the way everyone tried to cover this up is the reason they didn’t mention it much in the 1954 version but did mention it by the natives on Odo island.
