If the Monsterverse ever continues (most likely it will since GvK is a box office success and people of all walks of life loved it), I would want a solo Mothra movie, don't care if it's a prequel or takes place after GvK, I just want this lovely universe to continue man...oh yeah, there's an upcoming Netflix anime series about Skull Island so watch out for that, not confirmed yet on when it will take place but I'm hyped!

That's really crazy

Godzilla is on NOBODY'S side but his own. He doesn't give a flyin' f*ck about humans. To him, other monsters are enemies (and, occasionally, food) while humans are an annoyance at best that often get in the way. The only thing he's remotely interested in protecting is his home (Earth) and he deals with the biggest threat. Sometimes it means defeating aliens, sometimes it means killing other monsters, sometimes it means attacking the humans. Its why he's depicted as a hero in one movie and burning down a city in the next. You piss him off, he'll turn you into dust, but ultimately he goes where he wants to when he wants to. Out of all the creatures, only truly hero/savior/protector (for Mankind, at least) is the Queen of the Monsters (Mothra). She's Godzilla's main sidekick, but she's held her own against him on multiple occasions when he's attacked mankind. One thing you may have noticed is a pair of Chinese twins (one being the head of the China facility, the other being with Dr. Serizawa's team on the submarine), the reason for this is a nod to fans, because Mothra always had a pair of fairies (played by identical twins) acting as her messengers to mankind. The fairies would try to warn mankind, usually by telling them that they were going too far or doing something that would anger Godzilla. The humans would undoubtedly ignore said warnings, ultimately piss off Godzilla, and Mothra would eventually be forced to come to the rescue.

Mothra’s whole gig is she never truly dies. Before dying she always lays an egg. So she’s like a Phoenix, she rebirths. Even tho she’s technically weaker in physically aspects compared to other titans, her true power is she can rebirth herself. Not to say she doesn’t powers, she does. She can shoot beams, lasers etc, make gusts of wind, the god rays you saw, and enhance Godzilla’s power and so on so she’s not completely defenseless.

Mothra did not absorb Rodan's power and transfer it to Godzilla. He was already gonna go red and blow from all the energy he got from the nuke that revived him. She did what she did to help him control it and release on Monster Zero. Dr. Serizawa would not have survived. There was so much radiation in Godzilla's place that he was practically dead the moment he was getting close to it.

King of the Monsters is far in a way my most favourite out of the Legendary Monsterverse The Titans I wanted to see in this were so satisfying, the CG was so Good and the Sound and Visual design of Rodan, Mothra, Ghidorah and Godzilla were on point. I so wish I could have seen this in theaters, it's so Epic and Action Packed I adore this movie

I do too, never mind she looking good as hell too 😁 Anyway, a little tid bit on Mothra. Her ultimate power if you will, is her ability to temporarily power up an ally or in the older movies lore a siblings. Hence why Big G was able to come back at old 3 head and decimate him the way he did. Which is also why you can see Mothra's shape when he used the power given to him. You guys should really watch the Godzilla movies from the 50's on up from Japan. Sure most of them are cheesy as hell but us fans don't care, it's Big G.

The english dubs add even more cheese without meaning too since a lot of the voice actors are often used for various characters and often times the Japanese actors are reused for other characters.

I love the fact they kept the concept of mothra being kind of super natural. So much so that shes able to give her "immortal" essence to Gojira and help him balance his thermonuclear reaction and actually harness it at its peak to kill Ghidorah. I didnt notice until i watched it like 2-3 times after the first time, you see and hear mothra in his nuclear pulse. Brought me to tears.

Godzilla on fire form is called Burning Godzilla. Mothra essence was the catalyst that made him turn into that form. Its a homage to the Movie 'Godzilla vs Destroyah'(1995). Its basically Godzilla going super saiyan.

Not sure you caught it, but they’re son died during the events of the last godzilla movie. It’s likely a lot of people were just killed unintentionally from being stepped on Dr Chen being a twin and coming from a family of twins is an easter egg to Mothra in the old films who was accompanied by tiny twin fairies/priestesses Serizawa sacrificed himself in the original Gojira also, though with a different purpose I love the classic godzilla theme straight from the original movie playing when Godzilla comes back charged up There is a godzilla who could fly in one of he okder movies, but it was another godzilla from space who was an enemy to the original. Godzilla doesn’t fly Burning Godzilla like in Godzilla vs Destoroyah! Mothra didn’t take Rodan’s powers, it was all the extra radiation from that nuke. But she did also give Godzilla a boost Did you see all the news stuff in the credits? How stuff was growing, and they found a Mothra egg Btw, to be clear, the older movies aren’t connected to these new ones. Like these new ones aren’t continuations. If you folks ever decide to explore the Japanese Godzilla franchise, allow me to tell you which films of his are an absolute must-watch: -Gojira (the original 1954 film) -The Heisei Era (1984-1995) -Godzilla 2000 (1999) -Godzilla: Final Wars (2004) One thing that you will need to remember about the Toho version is that there are different timelines within the franchise. After the first Godzilla came the Showa Era (50s through the 70s), and all of them were sequels to each other. After the Showa Era was done, Godzilla's creators decided to reboot the franchise because they felt Godzilla had become too kid-friendly and had strayed away from his original intention: to serve as a message about the dangers of nuclear energy and the problems that can emerge when mankind starts to think itself superior to nature. Thus the Heisei Era was started, and its timeline disregarded all previous Godzilla films except the original 1954 film. It was originally meant to end with Godzilla's final death in 1995, but after the Tristar Godzilla of 1998, Toho decided to reboot the franchise again with the Millennium Era (1999-2004). OK so here is the whole meaning of Godzilla. Since USA nuked Hiroshima and Nagasaki in WW2, Japan wanted to make a movie representing the destruction of Nukes. Godzilla was born from that Nuke and he was the embodiment of a walking destruction in 1954. This USA version of Godzilla is the last of his kind, he is basically the balance of nature.

You calling Mothra a butterfly makes me feel the same way as people calling Chica from FNAF a duck. How do you get the species wrong when it’s in their name? Mothra is called “Mothra” because she’s a moth, and Chica’s name is based on the fact that she is supposed to be a chicken. By the way, did you notice that it took Mothra a while to arrive at the final battle? I have a theory. One that may or may not have been confirmed by a scene that was cut. Mothra has a track record of dying in these movies. However, she always comes back because before every battle in which she could die, she lays an egg that is an exact copy of herself. I think that’s what Mothra was doing before she showed up to the battle, and it’s possible that she might return in a later Monsterverse movie, depending on how many movies they make.

Mother's didn't stab Rodan and transfer the ability to Godzilla. Burning Godzilla happened because of the nuke they set off to wake and energise him to fight Ghidorah. He went thermo nuclear. Mothra's dust is what gave him that final boost to end him. You can hear her call and see her wings in the heatwaves Godzilla shoots out. It's Mothra and Godzilla's combined power + the radiation from the nuke that gave them the power to defeat Ghidorah.

I will admit, this movie is definitely the most toho accurate in my taste because Godzilla never usually fight Ghidorah on his own, so they definitely got that right. While with other movies, Godzilla doesn’t even put of fight in my taste.

-The Titans like Godzilla originated from the Hollow Earth and are part of Earth's natural ecosystem. Ghidorah was an alien from another planet, and according to the myths and legends, he came to Earth because he wouldn't inherit territory on his planet since he had a much bigger sibling. -Godzilla and Ghidorah fought numerous times in the past, and the reason Ghidorah was frozen was because Godzilla defeated him. Mothra, ancient humans, and Rodan actually assisted Godzilla against Ghidorah in the past. In fact, Godzilla arrived at the Monarch base asking them for help because he sensed Ghidorah waking up. -Mothra and Godzilla have a symbiotic relationship, and when she sacrificed herself, it put Godzilla into "Burning mode", which helped him concentrate all of the radiation that was going to cause him to explode.

I was in this movie! I'm one of the dead scientists that got shot up on the ice at Outpost 32. After the movie, I became good friends with the MoCap actor that played Ghidorah's right head. He and I have worked on a couple of other horror projects together. The dude that played Godzilla and the dude that plays Ghidorah's left head each have their own MoCap performance classes that they teach and enrolled in both of their's. If you guys have any Godzilla related, hit me up. I've been a hard core, die hard Godzilla fan since I was a kid in the 80's.

They keep mentioning how people are too close to these things as if something this big and that mobile would EVER have a chance of not finding its way to your area at some point in its life cycle. That moth was born in Yunnan, China and found its way to BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS. There is totally no chance of just ignoring these things. They big. BIG big.

Fun fact: the spider creature you see there is scylla an ancient Greece monster The monsters in this movie are based off of mythology: Behemoth, methuselah, bunyip, Yamata no orrochi, Mkobla mbae(The African dinosaur Cryptid) The sad fact is that Mothra and Rodan are supposed to be Godzilla's friends and with each other… Well later on they will be. For now Mothra and Rodan are enemies until the end of this movies Also the three headed dragon is pretty much called king Ghidorah, and he did came from space

This reintroduces Mothra, Rodan and King Ghidorah from Toho. They're from the same Japanese studio as Godzilla, or Gojira. While Godzilla has atomic breath, Ghidorah uses gravity beams. In these films, Godzilla starts off at 355 feet tall, then grows to just under 400 feet, while Ghidorah stands at 521 feet tall

The only titan that hasn't show it's power yet is rodan and mothra. They haven't complete their evolution yet base on the original TOHO. Rodan haven't show his Flame Ray Beam and Mothra haven't evolve to Rainbow Mothra, which is the strongest form of Mothra and able to shoot 3 laser out of her head.

Mothra did not steal the power of the fire demon to give to Godzilla, but the nuclear bomb itself. After absorbing the bomb, Godzilla itself becomes a nuclear bomb and ready to explode at any time

Did no one remember or listen when they said "hes going thermonuclear" or "because "hes about to explode like an atom bomb"? Also dr. Sarazowa has long studied godzilla, he loved these creatures and would protect them. It makes more sense when u watch these 3 films in order of godzilla (2014), king of monsters, then kong vs godzilla. As it makes it easier to understand and not make u question what's happening. Also for the scene where even though she has a clear shot, she doesnt, while it seems dumb, military never just shoot on sight, simple and true, were not playing call of duty or battlefield shooting anybody because they're a bad guy, it's called orders, you fail to follow and go against it, in short. It won't be a good day. Besides, maybe he has information they want, and if u kill kne leader, 10 more rise in its place. All in all, I just wanted to clear these things up.

It's kinda complicated but here's the basics. When it comes to Titans or Kaiju monsters . They are all Titan or Kaiju monsters . But then there are classes of them Mothra is one of three Guardian monsters . They fight to stop the others that just want . To destroy the world Godzilla is a 4th guardian . In a way because of the very first Godzilla movie . I won't spoil it in any way . But Godzilla is also a alpha so he keeps other Titans / Kaiju at bay . But when they emerge to cause trouble an chaos . Godzilla steps in as a guardian to keep the balance . Like in the first Godzilla movie those bugs would have destroyed the world . Kong on the other hand is just a Titan/ Kaiju an a alpha . So he sticks to skull island and just deals with problems on his island . Then there's the rest of the Titans / Kaiju . Some good some bad basically the good ones. Don't cause any trouble . That's why Godzilla is going around to hunt the. Titans /Kaiju that appear and threatened the world . Because he's a Guardian as well whare as Kong is not a Guardian . About Mothra in this movie they slightly changed her. They added some more offensive parts from other bugs . Like her stinger an her front legs so she could have more. Fighting capabilities then the original Mothra . In the original movies she is just a giant moth no stinger or anything .

The others are worth the watch . But I figured since no one else gave . A explanation for the way that Mothra an Godzilla really act as . Well a Kong I would just give you a basic rundown. In a way that doesn't spoil the other movies . Because you seeing how Godzilla is protecting . The world already saying he's kinda like the 4th Guardian isn't spoiling anything. The stuff about Mothra being one of three Guardian monsters /Kaiju other people . Have already said that in other commitments so I just . Figured I would explain the Guardian monsters roles . Once again you already seen them in action so . Not really a spoiler nether .

Various Easter Eggs hardcore Godzilla fans like myself will recognize but people like you who are new to the fandom/franchise might not: 1) They actually got the rights to remix the classic Toho theme songs for Godzilla and Mothra. They didn't get the rights to do so for Rodan or King Ghidorah though, which sucks cause they have great themes two. 2) The fact that there are twin scientists looking after Mothra is a reference to the classic lore of Mothra, where she has two tiny twin FAIRIES that act as her high priestesses and can summon her to battle with a song they sing as a duet. 3) The Oxygen Destroyer was originally used to kill the first Godzilla in his 1954 debut film. To this day it remains the ONLY man-made weapon to kill Godzilla. 4) Godzilla's form that he uses to finish King Ghidorah off is known as Burning Godzilla. This version uses an Atomic Shockwave to destroy King Ghidorah, but the ability that Burning Godzilla is actually best known for (and one I hope we see in future MonsterVerse films) is the Spiral Atomic Breath. In his Burning form, his Atomic Breath turns Orange/Red and actually spins like a corkscrew or drill, hence the term "Spiral". 5) In this film, Godzilla and Mothra have a symbiotic relationship. In the original Toho lore, their relationship is very bipolar. Sometimes they're allies, other times they're enemies. But Godzilla probably does have some strong respect for Mothra, because she remains the ONLY Kaiju that he has never been able to truly defeat.
